Jeff Zucker out at CNN after failing to disclose ‘consensual relationship’ with colleague

It's funny how a progressive talking point on Twitter is "Why are we covering consensual affairs between adults?" Whatever happened to Me Too and sexual relationships between a boss and a subordinate being a form of sexual harrassment or assault (even if consensual) due to the power imbalance?
This is different.

I was changing TV channels the other day & stopped on one of those Trump hating stations to see what was the topic ..... Trump, Trump, Trump. There's never a negative word spoken about the terrible & horrible Democratic leadership whose now sitting in the Oval WH.
I'm sincerely amazed at the obsession they have, even some here. Biden is literally everything they accused trump of, yet they will not acknowledge it, and trump is all they talk about. You used to be able to watch CNN and actually see news, but every single time I've stopped on that channel, it's all about trump. They can't accept he beat Hillary, he'll be rent free in their heads till they die.

Is this the end of CNN's left-wing bias? Billionaire Trump donor, who is the largest shareholder of the network's new owner Discovery, wants to restore it to impartiality - and INSISTED on Jeff Zucker's departure after his affair was exposed

  • John Malone is chairman of Liberty Media, Discovery's largest shareholder
  • He previously donated $250,000 to Trump's inauguration, and told of wanting to restore CNN to impartial journalism after years of left-wing bias
  • After CNN chief Jeff Zucker's relationship with colleague Allison Gollust was revealed, Malone reportedly made it clear policies must be followed
  • CNN will be folded into Discovery as part of a $43billion deal
  • CNN is now investigating if Zucker had an inappropriate relationship with Andrew Cuomo, former Governor of New York
  • A source tells Rolling Stone that Gollust and Zucker were also advising Cuomo at the start of the pandemic - like Chris was fired for doing
CNN's left-wing bias may become a thing of the past when it is spun off to Discovery later this year, with the largest shareholder of the network's new owners eager to restore it to impartiality.

John Malone, a billionaire Trump donor, is the CEO of Liberty Media, Discovery's largest shareholder. He retains a 25 percent voting share in Discovery, which will take control of WarnerMedia and its assets - including CNN - later this year.

It's unclear which political direction Discovery CEO David Zaslav wants to take the network in. On Friday morning, he shocked CNBC hosts by calling the network 'the leader of news to the left'.

Mediaite interpreted his remark as a reference to the political left however he has since clarified that he was talking about the 'left' side of the company portfolio, with sports being on the 'right'.

Billionaire John Malone, who has made no secret of his dislike of CNN under Zucker's leadership, is said to have made it clear corporate policies must be followed after it was revealed CNN's president Jeff Zucker had not disclosed a workplace relationship

CNN staffers and media insiders are speculating over why WarnerMedia bosses and AT&T chiefs really wanted him gone, since the affair was an 'open-secret' for years.

One theory centers around AT&T's deal to sell WarnerMedia - which owns CNN - to Discovery. The $43billion deal is almost done, after years of attempts by AT&T to spin the network off.

Under the merger, WarnerMedia and Discovery will become one new media powerhouse - Warner Bros. Discovery. Zucker was meant to keep a key role in the new company.

Malone is a supporter of Zucker's most emboldened enemy, Donald Trump. He donated $250,000 to Trump's inauguration in 2017 and has made no secret of the fact that he, like Trump and millions of others, think CNN has become too left-wing and biased.

'I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing,' he told CNBC in 2019.

Inside the Explosive meeting with CNN stars Angry over Jeff Zucker's Resignation: Jake Tapper called Chris Cuomo a 'terrorist', Jim Acosta said network would now become 'Fox News Light' and Kaitlan Collins unleashed fury on WarnerMedia CEO

  • CNN's top talents are slamming WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar over the sudden ousting of network president Jeff Zucker who resigned Wednesday
  • Leaked audio from a company meeting reveals that anchor Jake Tapper accused Kilar of furthering the appearance that Zucker was forced out by Chris Cuomo
  • Tapper alleged it could be 'perceived' that Zucker lost his job by refusing to pay 'terrorist' Cuomo the $18million remaining on his contract
  • White House Correspondent Kaitlan Collins echoed the claim, saying Zucker's resignation was part of the scorned Cuomo's wrath
  • Jim Acosta also weighed in, alleging the network's core content and values will likely evolve in wake of Zucker's resignation
CNN's top talents slammed the top boss of the network's parent company over the ousting of president Jeff Zucker during an explosive meeting Wednesday and demanded to know whether or not he'd consulted anyone in the decision.

Anchor Jake Tapper demanded WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar address the 'perception' that Zucker lost his job by refusing to pay 'terrorist' Chris Cuomo the $18million remaining on his contract.

Cuomo, determined to get his money, is still threatening a lawsuit against the network that is rooted in allegations Gollust and Zucker were inappropriately close with his brother Andrew as well.

To stave off that lawsuit - and more potential scandal - CNN is now reportedly considering giving him half - $9million.

It has also been claimed that a top shareholder at Discovery, Trump-donor John Malone, insisted on Zucker's departure.

Malone has made no secret of his disdain for how left-wing CNN has become and how he wanted to 'restore' it to its old style of journalism before Discovery inherited it. When he learned of the affair, he said

Chief Domestic Correspondent Jim Acosta also weighed in, alleging the network's core content and values will likely devolve in the wake of Zucker's resignation, forcing CNN to face 'pretty serious consequences.'

Jeff Zucker's girlfriend, Allison Gollust, is shown arriving home on Thursday night. She will keep her job at CNN

Outside CNN, media insiders say there is 'more to come'.

Former FOX News host Megyn Kelly said on Eric Bolling's Newsmax show Wednesday night: 'There will be more shoes to drop. Mark my words. Nothing I can report to you now, but mark my words: there are more shoes to drop.'

Reporters Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy, a business reporter, also penned an article Wednesday night that reveres Zucker as their 'leader', to whom they still pledge loyalty, and shames Kilar.

Jeff Zucker and girlfriend Allison Gollust 'advised "pandemic hero" Andrew Cuomo on how to handle COVID' and even 'gave him talking points on how to publicly spar with Donald Trump'

  • Rolling Stone cites sources who say the investigation into Chris Cuomo's departure also suggests Zucker and Allison Gollust were helping Andrew Cuomo behind the scenes
CNN President Jeff Zucker and his girlfriend Allison Gollust advised former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on how to handle the COVID-19 crisis and even gave him 'talking points' on how to spar with President Donald Trump, according to new reports which suggest their secret affair was not the only reason Zucker was ousted from the network this week.

According to sources cited by Rolling Stone on Thursday, the pair breached journalism ethics to help Cuomo behind the scenes in the same way that his younger brother Chris did.

An ongoing investigation at CNN that was focused on Chris's departure has now, according to Rolling Stone's sources, also found that Gollust - who worked for Andrew previously - and Zucker were actively consulting the Democratic Governor and advising him.

It could help explain how Andrew Cuomo became an overnight, international sensation.

He held daily, televised press briefings that CNN aired in full, often devoting over an hour of uninterrupted airtime to the updates, and appeared on his younger brother's evening show, reportedly at Gollust and Zucker's behest.

He and Trump - Zucker's famous enemy - would trade insults in the press and according to the Rolling Stone article on Thursday, Zucker and Gollust gave the New York Governor some of the material to fight the then President.

If true, Zucker and Gollust's breach of ethics and conduct far exceeds them not reporting their romance to company executives, as they were required to do.

The End of CNN As We Know It Is Coming

This is tooooooo good...Wait wait wait...LMAO
If Malone is genuine in his desire he could retake the roost on cable news with the original name that founded it. But where is he gonna get talent receptive to the idea of “just report the news on the air and your opinions on your personal media page.” But if he can get a stable of equal left and right leaning journos that present the news as just the news and then take to the debate outside of the news I’ll probably watch it more than any other channel. But honestly if it’s successful I’d guess it’s years away.

I don’t even care if they’re progressives. I just want news to be news and then they can change gears to their opinion pieces. I’d at least respect that and would probably even listen if they presented their views honestly. May not agree but I’d listen.

I remember tuning in to Glen Beck on CNN. It used to not be the way it is now.
