Jeremy Banks day 1 pick?

I usually wish for the best for former Vols, but I can't help but root against Jeremy Banks for his shenanigans that may have cost us a spot in the CFP. Unfortunately, he signed with TB

Jeremy Banks did not force the defense to lay down. And that is what they did.
I dont know what happened but apparently the rest of the D didnt appreciate how he was treated/punished. That is on them and the coaching staff.

You're ignoring the main point of the "problem"....the fact that Banks apparently did something to warrant being "treated/punished" a certain way. If Banks isn't having some sort of issue, none of this happens. I'd have to guess that the off the field concerns impacted how some of the NFL teams viewed him, too. No one wants or needs a locker room problem when there are other guys out there who come without that baggage. Bottom line for me is that you can't shift the blame on the team and coaching staff on this one while ignoring the elephant in the locker room so to speak. Speaking for myself, I don't wish him any ill, but I'm glad he's moved on.

But he was a catalyst for their poor play.

Yep, as you can see even some posters are loyal if you wear the Power T to a fault. That game vs USC jr you could tell something was off with the D. I don't think all 11 players were going through the motions but some that were loyal to JB to a fault gave marginal play. Everyone knows if you work in a group and you have a couple of dissenters it will throw you off as a team reaching your goal. Will never call out any players but if a DL or edge rusher or a DB or a LB took plays off or was just going 80% or so, that would have been enough for Rat to have his best game all year. This D wasn't great so if a couple of players are not giving their all these results could & did transpire.

He's is repetitive with his transgressions. And a fan shouldn't be held to the same standard as an actual member of the team. Good lord.

NO, as full grown adults fans should be held to a higher standard. Doing stupid stuff on a field of play with the clock running vs saying or posting stuff totally at one's own discretion is what it is. Bottom line there is no justification for EITHER.

Was he having thos trouble alone? Or was the golden child of the offense of an offensive Head Coach also involved?

I dont know what happened or what the punishment was. I dot know of it was warranted or not.

I do know a large part of the team not named Jeremy Banks seemed to think it was unwarranted.

It always amazes me how people rush to judgment about things they have zero idea about.

You can't name one LBer that is excellent in coverage.
so the only valid point you have is the character stuff for which he's been documented as remedying.

He did get invited to a SR all-star game and the NFL Combine.

Undrafted?? That's hilarious!

Oops. Is it still hilarious @LittleVol

If the kid has really changed and matured then Banks will get a chance. If the arrest had never occurred, would he of been a 4-5th round guy anyways? I would think yes after his combine potentially. Trash talk aside—is Banks >Henry T?

I don’t think either will be long in the league.

May not have the details of the one specific incident, but there were an inordinate amount of incidences. Unfortunate, but he has no one to blame but himself.

Same applies to you

Saban might have told him so but going to bammer killed his draft stock. Toot that is. Does anyone else feel like toot hit his ceiling?

I've always felt like he is undersized. Misses far too many tackles because of that and is pretty bad in coverage. That being said, he has pretty solid instincts and is very athletic. But he's been JAG since his freshman year.

This cat is
6'1 232 lbs
4.5 - 40
37.5 vertical
25 reps of 225 (400 lbs eq)
Had over 200 career tackles
9 sacks
4 Ints

All around production and physical testing puts him as ones of the most skilled LBs to ever play at UT.
If you don't agree, looks at Al Wilson's and Jerrod Mayos to compare.
How’d that first day selection work out for you. I know, like most of your projections.

I remember somebody on the thread saying that Mr. Banks is not going to play in the NFL. Flag football league somewhere perhaps. USFL scout team bench warmer?
