Am I really reading all of this criticism of Jeremy Banks as a person and player? He is a fiery young man from a rough background who made mistakes early in his career, got a chance at redemption and ran with it. He had been a huge bright spot on defense, the emotional leader on that side of the ball and our best LB for the last 2 years (and only good LB last year). He is a VFL who has left everything on the field and given max effort in turning our program around and helping set up our program for the best season in decades and future success.
Is VolNation seriously turning on him over rumors that he walked across the locker room, stepped on the T and then took exception to being told what to do by our offensive leader? Nobody knows if all that is factual and, if it is, whether Hooker was in the right in how he approached Banks. This is ridiculous. Banks changed positions, learned and became all-SEC caliber at his new position, earned his way back onto the team and stuck around after the coach that recruited him left. He has earned his VFL card and then some and helped us beat Bama, LSU and UF. Is everyone forgetting that Jennings was also a fiery leader with an attitude who got kicked off the team and ended up a Vol legend? You think Al Wilson was a choir boy? I refuse to lay the SC loss solely at Bank's feet....it's not like our offense played great in that game either. Also, the offense and defense are seperate teams within the team and have their own leaders and hierarchy separate from the offense. Some of yous are ridiculous!
