Jerod Askew!

I think getting the final visit is a huge deal in recruiting.

No doubt...that last visit he takes to K-ville will the freshest thing on his mind when he goes to make a decision. Also, with the new facilities done, that should really help in recruiting.

Sometimes you just get a feeling that a guy will be special and I've had that feeling about JA for awhile now. This is my guy.

"Yes, it was an official visit," Askew confirmed. "I loved it down there. They have great fans. I mean, the fans were so crazy. They really make you want to go there.

"I chilled with the players and took a little trip around the campus to see what it was like. I watched film with the linebackers for a little while then we went to an individual session with them. They were talking about the game and how they thought they did. We ended up leaving Monday morning."

talking about his WVU trip

will visit Tennessee of the 18th. says he's been to wvu twice and really likes it.

LB Jerod Askew (6-0 230) of Chesapeake, VA was scheduled to make an official visit to USC for the Wofford game with teammate WR Tim Smith, but the Gamecocks canceled both visits. But Askew still plans to come down to the Palmetto State. He said he will set an official visit with Clemson, and he has the Tigers in his final five along with Alabama, Tennessee, West Virginia and Maryland. "I want to see all of them and compare them," Askew said. "Clemson has a heck of a defense. Their defense is aggresssive and that's what I'm all about, aggressive defense." Askew took an official visit to West Virginia last weekend. He is scheduled to visit Tennessee this weekend and Maryland October 18th.

He's only 6'?

LB's don't have to be tall. Look at Ellix Wilson and Rico McCoy. Regardless, if the attendance is anywhere near predicted, he will either be a Mountaineer or a Tiger.

You are wrong hv. Experts here and elsewhere have declared that fan behavior and talk has no bearing on a recruits decision.

from a college friend formr walkon player

Right now I'd say he is a WVU lean but nothing is sure. He is like fellow VA player Morgan Moses, they keep real quiet about who they like. I talked to him a week ago and he is a real smart kid.

What hurts UT with Logan Thomas, Morgan Moses and Jerod Askew is that there are so many high ranking kids from VA who are good friends that have committed to WVU. Also Askew is close to teammate Tim Smith and he looks like he may pull the trigger for either WVU or Louisville right now
