Rex, I agree this was a must get.
Looks like the crew from Richmond is pulling in some great players.
Can you imagine Butch Davis or Lane Kiffin with these players.

Keep scott, fire the rest. Just get the new coach in here early enough to talk with those already committed. Good pickup,but he is in phil's hands, kinda takes alot of the excitement away.

With rumors surrounding Phillip Fulmer's job status as the Vols are off to a 2-3 start this season, is Askew done?

"He's done unless something happens with the coaching staff," Morgan said. "That's the way we do things here, he's committed so he's done. The only exception is if the coaching staff a player here commits to is gone, then they have the opportunity to open things up. But with Jerod, the things he liked so much about Tennessee -- the school, atmosphere, fans -- none of that will change regardless so I would assume they'd still be on top for him even if something happened."

I don't think I've heard anything about Askew during this entire coaching search...

And if I'm not mistaking...didn't he say when he committed that he would open it back up if Fulmer was fired?

I can't believe nobody on here is talking about him....he is the biggest defensive recruit we have and I had to go all the way to page 3 in this forum to find the thread about him...

Does anyone have any news about him...I know he really liked Chavis but wouldn't he want to play for Monte just as bad?

His coach said he might step back and take a look at things but he was committed to the University as much as he was the coaches.

He sent a QB to the hospital last Saturday in a state semi-final game in VA. His team plays for the state title this weekend.

Askew has a couple of really good teammates from the 2010 class. Can't hurt our chances.

Askew is a solid vol according to Jeremy Crabtree of rivals...-LB Jerod Askew is now in the house, and he told Greg Ladky that he's "cool" with the new Tennessee staff and there are no issues with his commitment to the Vols

That is great news. This kid is good. If there is another future Jerod Mayo out there, it is Askew.
