Jeronne Maymons NBA chances...

Lol. I'm a similar kind of bandwagon fan as the UT fans that cheer for Peyton in the NFL. They never cared about the Colts, just Peyton. Likewise, I don't especially care for the Heat, but I really like LeBron, D. Wade, and Kobe. So, I'm really hoping the Heat and Lakers meet in the finals.

BTW, I never overtly said this, but with our little team icons under our usernames, I'm expressing who I'm cheering for in the present. I just added the Lakers icon after the Preds were knocked out of the playoffs. When football season comes, I'll add a Titans icon, and when basketball comes, the UT icon. That's gonna be my thing.

True definition of a bandwagon fan.

Some people would accuse you of being a bandwagon jumper but I bet you've been a Heat fan since Shaq was there and you became a Lakers fan when he went to L.A. to pair up with Kobe. But wait, that would make you bandwagon fan from way back. J/K

Except Shaq was with the Lakers before he went to Miami.

Edit: Nevermind, misread your post.

I got no ties to an NBA team, but basketball is my favorite sport. Can you cut me some slack, and let me enjoy the NBA?

Most people these days are fans of players and not teams in the NBA. Case and point would be Lebron. You don't see any Cavs "fans" now.

I claim the Lakers and always will purely because I was born in LA and raised to love the Lakers and hate the Celtics.

Well I'm jealous that you have a meaningful connection with a team.

FWIW, the Celtics are my #2 most hated team, right behind UK bball.

No we can't.....I'm a lowly 76er fan and have been my whole life.....I was ridiculed for wearing my sixer stuff for yrs until 2001 and I would hear people yell go sixers at me......if I had a gun I would have shot them lol jk...

The worst shame was playing NBA jam with spoon and Bradley my sixer representatives LOL

I'm sure your hate will turn to love if they look like they may win it all. Since you jump teams all the time and all.

But I hate the Celtics. I just like LeBron, Kobe, D. Rose, CJ Watson, etc. What's wrong with me enjoying good basketball? Why does it make your butt hurt so much?

No worries. I'm the same way. I like Melo, Lebron, Steve nash, Kevin Love, J.R. Smith and Chris Anderson, meaning on any given night I could be rooting for six different teams.

I used to like the seven second suns and melo's Nuggets especially, but now that they are all broken up it's just easier to be a fan of a player than a team.

Yeah, we're on the same page. The very first NBA team I liked were the Nuggets because I also like Melo. Are you cheering for any team in particular for the playoffs?

For those who think Jeronne can't make it in the league, take a good look at Shane Battier. He was an undersized post with no shot at Duke. Then he completely changed his game into a 3pt specialist and defensive presence.

Point being, anyone with Maymon's work ethic and natural ability can make it if they put in the work.

We have seen the improvement in Jeronne's game the last 2 years, and I for one think he can make it in the league.

Right now draft express has maymon as a 2nd round pick in next years draft, and yes the does include underclassmen declaring.

Here was CCM's thoughts on jeronne being projected as a 2nd rounder..."That's an insult. He's better than that."

Thoughts?
he's a hard worker,if he wants to be good in the NBA ,he'll be good.

Are you thinking of the right guy?

Battier was a 3pt shooter at duke. The guy averaged about 5 three point attempts a game for his career, and almost 10 a game his senior season. He shot well over 40% in his last 3 years and was regarded as one of the nations top 3 point shooter, he definitely had a shot.

Battier measured 6' 9.5" and 230 lbs at the draft and was a SF who could shoot the lights out. I don't see in any way shape or form how a comparison can be drawn between maymon and battier. Battier was a top 10 pick with great size and measurables, and a great shooting stroke. I don't see the comparison???

So you're saying he doesn't suffer from the same campus shrinking disease that yemi suffers from?

It's Infact the complete opposite?

Dude, I have been saying from the get-go that Yemi's visual height vs. listed is the biggest discrepancy I've ever seen. Maymon much closer to his listed height.

No butt hurt here, I just think it's comical when people switch "teams" so much.

You're not getting my point. I claim no NBA team, as I have no meaningful connection with any team. Does that mean I can't cheer on the players I like? I would really like for LeBron to win a ring, therefore I will cheer for the Heat. Doesn't mean I've been a life-long fan, it just means I want to see the best basketball player in the world gather accolades.

I'm just an NBA fan dude. Normally this stuff wouldn't bother me, but you are essentially saying I can't be a professional basketball fan because I cheer for more than one team. That's bogus dude.

And FTR, if the Heat and Lakers are both eliminated before the Finals, I'll be changing my icons again. I'M THAT BIG OF AN NBA FAN.
