Seriously people would be upset if we hired Franklin away from Vanderbilt?

I know some of you don't like the guy but come on as we have seen now for two years the guy is a solid coach and with the way he is recruiting to Vandy with there academic stuff imagine what he could do at UT with our facilities etc...

I wouldn't mind that hire one bit to top it off it would piss of Candy fans!

We hired a guy with a 17-20 career record 3 years ago, so we'd follow that up with hiring a guy who hasn't beaten a winning team in the 2 years he was at Vandy? We already had that coach in Dooley.

Yeah and you will hear all kinds of official lists. Golden, Stoops Tressle, Peterson, Cowher, Strong, Franklin, Mohamid Ghandi and Elvis Presley.

Jim Tressel has not, is not and never will be a candidate to replace Dooley.

TN just got it's probation extended and then entertains the idea of a coach with a show cause penalty for 3 years ? I think not.

Tressell did what any coach who is in a title hunt is going to do. He thought the story wouldn't grow any legs and just be rumor. Actually what Franklin has done with Vandy is pretty solid. He is a good recruiter. Do I think that Franklin would be a homerun? NO. Do I think that Tressell would be? Tressell would be better than half of the other names we are seeing. I would much rather have him than Golden.

Like it or not that's about to change at Vandy if they get all these guys they have committed signed and in school! They have committed what 3 or 4 four stars and about 10 or 12 high three stars?

Franklin is a coach that gets 200% out of his team. He may be arragont but he can coach

This. I am not exactly a fan of him. He has Vandy playing sound football right now. He is exactly what UT needed when they hired Dooley. A coach who talks their team up instead of beating them down. That is one huge knock I always had on Dooley. He loved to play the poor pitiful me act with how bad his team was.

Why does the media keep throwing tressels name out there? I had forgotten how long his show cause was. nothing is making sense anymore. This is getting ridiculous. Just throw money at Gruden and hope it sticks. We need somebody who at least likes UT football. FYI-Gruden almost took the job in 2009 , but hamilton blocked it and thank goodness he is gone
