I believe Hart mentioned our next hire would be someone of high moral character..."integrity" - and since Tressel knew what his players were doing and did nothing about it, I think you can cross his name off the list

If we get Gruden yes there may be a honeymoon spike in fan interest and recruiting... However, Gruden is unproven in recruiting HS age kids and he is unproven as a college HC....

Tressel is a proven winner who made a major mistake... But he can coach, he can and has won championships in college and would do a great job here.

Yes Gruden is a great hire as well...but he is my #2.

Winning and making "major mistakes" dont go together. Thats the reason the guy isnt coaching right now. We dont need anymore "major mistakes" on the hill. We need a coach that wins and does it the right way...

I find it interesting to note that we have an upcoming series against Ohio State and wouldn't it be kind of ironic if Tressel became the coach and then beat Urban Meyer and Ohio State while coaching Tennessee. Just a random thought, I by no means want him as our coach but he is a proven college winner. My #1 is still Gruden

**Never mind just seen where Ohio State cancelled the 18-19 series. We still have Oklahoma coming up though

James Franklin and Jim Tressel have officially been added to the "short list' of candidates to be the next UT coach, if they can't get Gruden(they can):crazy:

If we are that desperate and have to get Franklin then I'm going to go to my basement and cry the days away. We have to get someone with more bang than that and get someone that can revive this program not a guess or hope hire like Franklin. With that being said I bet if we even offered him he would tell us to kiss his ass after all the hate between him and Tennessee.

I believe there are already plenty of rumors about this but no one has been able to post solid evidence.

I would have to cheer for the Vols from a long distance if Franklin were hired. I just can't support that guy! I hope these are just rumors and nothing more.

I highly doubt he would enroll kids already. Seein as how all he would have to do is walk in with his kids and all teachers would run at him wanting to teach them.

Hiring your Franklin would be like pissing in the wind and expecting it not to get on you.
That or kissing your sister.
