He's shown potential, but just never cracked the rotation with all the depth we've had at WR. That said, I do think he had a good shot at the 2-deep next season, but maybe wants to find a place he can start (looks like Bru, Keyton, and Squirrel likely to be top 3 for '23).

Best of luck to him! I still think he has a lot of potential at WR.

We do rotate WRs. It's just that Holiday was probably our #7 WR for this season (behind Tillman, Hyatt, Bru, Keyton, Squirrel, and Walker Merrill). He did have 106 yards this season, which is actually crazy good for a team's #7 WR.
The only reason keyton and squirrel got significant time was due to injuries.

Without a doubt. Only 85 to work with. Got 23 commits and a lot of holes to fill. Suspect he won't be the last. Probably one of many that will find greener pastures elsewhere. We need to upgrade this roster in a big way.
What you have to watch for is many going into portal are going for the sane reason ours are for more playing time. Just saying not every portal player is a take in fact a percentage of portal players move down in competition. It’s not like every portal player is a star in the making. You have to do your homework there. Recruiting is still your biggest team builder overall, but no doubt you can help your team with the right picks out of the portal. GBO!

Wonder if he sort of told moving on would be best and UT looking at some other WR coming in
A WR leaving this program would be nuts unless he was told that he wasn't good enough and wouldn't play much. Most WRs would give their left nut to play in this system

Such a shame too. He’s a phenomenal athlete and did nothing but make plays when given the opportunity. They wouldn’t even let him run kickoffs back though. Him catching that TD from Milton on opening night and exploding to the end zone showed the potential he had. He also had the size and experience in HS at running between and off the tackles as a QB. They could’ve found ways to utilize him more both in the running and passing game
Dude showed up as a qb undersized at the university of Tennessee.. what did he expect. Not everyone can be JJ
