JJJ 2 two tournament games sums up his entire career perfectly:

We play great defense, but we struggle offensively. It seems that more than half of the time the defense will wear our offense down. We cannot close out games as a result. This is the balance that we have not achieved.
The season has taken a toll on this team's stamina because of the Defense and the execution on offense worsen as the season progressed.

The talent is there, but the Offensive scheme is not the right fit for this type of team defense.

IOW, We exert as much effort to score points on the offensive side as we do on the defense.

This is on CRB who has the talent to find a offensive scheme and a combination of player that does not totally drain the team's energy the entire game.

By the time they get to the last 8 minutes it appears they are running on empty.

Coach K used to have a TV show in which he interviewed other coaches. He asked Bob Huggins what type of players he tries to recruit. His answer was whoever we can get. We don't get to pick choose like some of you do.

The blue bloods get to take the best offensive players. It puts butts in seats and eyeballs in front of TVs. TN doesn’t quite have that privilege. I think that with what’s left Barnes works to get coachable, high character players that can be great defenders. TN isn’t going to out talent KY or Duke or UNC or KU and several others by outscoring them. And a gimmick offense like Loyola-Marymount can work in a mid-major now and then, but not week in, week out in the SEC.

I know your probably not gonna agree with this because I don't even like saying it. I think we may need a couple of guys that are not so high character. Not talking University of Alabama criminals but guys with an edge. A Uros with real basketball talent. Sometimes a whole team of Mr Nice Guys fold up against adversity.

I’m not ready to sell out when we can also knock off #1 and be ranked every single week. Too risky.

Sometimes a team laced with thugs fold up as well.

High character isn’t necessarily staying out of prison and toting around a Bible. Respecting your teammates and coaches and not being selfish while putting your team’s best interests before your own are high character qualities as well.

As humans go, you really drop yourself to a filthy level when you call JJJ pathetic. What is it in your brain that even allows you to go there? Do you have any decency at all? You can do better. Just make a change, man.

Sometimes he looks great, sometimes he looks pathetic. At basketball. Not at being a human being. Stop acting like basketball is the only thing that defines these guys.

This happens to every athlete. I haven't seen anyone PERFECT. He plays hard, but like everyone else he makes mistakes!! I bet all of you have too. Yes that includes me too.

He is pathetic. I wish he would have went pro or kept whining about his sore knee and stayed out. He will put up 25 against some low major in round one and we will get his entourage on here talking about how great he is. Then
he will lay an egg in round two.
Behold the effects of over dosing on the rat poison.

With Vescovi being the exception the rest of the team are all the same. Good defenders will have 23 points one game then disappear for the next 12 games

Game 1: 6/13 shooting, 7 Rebs, 2 Ast, 2 TO, 20 points

Game 2: 1/7 shooting, 1 Reb, 3 Ast, 3 TO, 3 points

Feel like that sums up his entire career. One game plays out of this world. Then next is a complete no show
Don't forget that nice technical foul!

Whatever. It's a basketball opinion. He is pathetic at basketball when it counts.
To say "He is pathetic" is terribly childish and speaks to your lack of character. At the worst , you can say his career at UT has been a bit disappointing due to his injuries and inconsistent play. But , I can just about guarantee he has more class in his pinky finger than you have in your entirety.

JJJ will benefit from NCAA tourney schedule with rest until next Thursday or Friday and then a day of rest between games if we can advance. It is obvious that he was hurting yesterday. Not the same lift on jump shot that he had Thursday. When he is on, he makes everyone better. He carried us to SEC tourney championship last year. He could have just shut down for this year, but instead he is out there fighting with his teammates.
