Many illegal immigrants do pay taxes. Also, the "rights" we are guaranteed are largely just promises from the government to not violate certain rights we have--meaning they are subject to change or abuse from the same institution.

I didn't say it was harmless, although I think there would be a net gain by discontinuing our current policy. My position is that the government's job shouldn't be to remove otherwise peaceful persons by force, and that closed borders are generally worse than open ones from an economic standpoint.

not worried about the culture. we could use more of their women, food, beer, and women.

this isn't a usual situation. just like the situation in Europe isn't normal. too much is not a good thing. we have too many unemployed as it is.

drastic shifts can, and have, caused issues. also tends to be a bit of a bubble situation

Why do you think migrants are going to Europe from the middle east? Do you think so many would be going there if not for all the social programs?

Jobs Friday: Added 313,000 in February, blowing past expectations of 200,000. Construction, manufacturing and business services roles drove the gains. Construction up 61,000. Wages not too hot like last month. The unemployment rate held steady at 4.1%. Futures are up hard. Bull market turns 9 years old today.
