I doubt anyone has forgot, but this kid has a Cannon for an arm.. he threw it 55 or 60 yds, off balance & moving to his left, & almost completed it... I hope he learns to get a little more accurate, know when to take some heat off the ball, & he'll be just fine next year

We didn't win by it, but we scored FIDDY!

I really don't see him as our future. He's never going to have the smarts and clutch gene to lead this team to the heights that we now expect. I could be wrong but I don't see him being that guy. For example, I don't see him ever being capable of doing watch HH did with 15 secs left yesterday

Virginia tech said the same thing about HH...
But then Coach JH did his thing with him.
I wouldn't write him off yet

I'm with you. The few chances we've gotten to see Joe this year, he's been much improved from what we saw in early 2021. I know everyone wants to see Nico, but I think it will be Joe's job to lose next fall. Hope he gets plenty or reps next week.

Me too but I wonder if HH being in the Heisman race keeps him in the game longer than needed?.?.

I am optimistic that when we unwrap Joe Milton in 2023, we discover that he has grown a lot from 2021. Same physical gifts, but now 2 full years in the system, 2 years being an understudy to a fantastic QB1, and 2 years of learning what he needs to do to take the next step.

Keep in mind, Milton grasped this system very quickly after arrival and ran the tempo offense well. His shortcomings were on his personal performance, and then Hooker stepped in and Wally Pipped him.

Very optimistic about Milton in 2023.

Hooker was a much better QB at VT than Milton was at Michigan. Truth be told, Hooker was pretty good at VT; they just didn't know how to use him. Milton was awful at Michigan.

I'm impressed by Milton's progress this year, but I'm still skeptical of whether he'll ever be a gamer. Hope he's great next year, but tough to judge accuracy off 2 or 3 passes. And his decision-making has never been on par with Hooker's. I'm optimistic and skeptical about Milton at the same time, but Heup is a QB whisperer, so you never know.

We will see. I hope you're right but I think Milton will still sail too many passes, resulting in TOs and he will struggle in crunch time. I'd love to be wrong

I really want Milton to turn into a force. I don't know what it is about that kid but I like him and want to see him succeed so badly. I've actually wondered if he could be a TE or something. He's got the size and strength. Although I'd rather see him throwing bombs.

I agree with you and the reality is that time is not on Milton's side. You don't gain much in those areas in practice. He won't have the luxury of time to gain those skills

Milton is Hooker but with more size. His throwing has improved and that's all coaching. He will do very well next year.

Anyone think they'll bring in a transfer QB next year? If they do, it's a clear sign that the coaching staff is not confident in Milton

The throw was actually really good. Wr got his hands on it. I think it was Bru, he just couldn’t pull it down. Milton’s deep ball has never really been that much in question. He just needs to show he can execute the offense when the game gets tight. It’s all mental, kid has every physical tool to be successful.

I don't know where you're getting this confidence that Milton has gained gray matter in the head and accuracy in his arm. I think it's wishful thinking not grounded in evidence. That said, I do hope you're right

He should get plenty of reps this weekend.

The game time he's got this year he looked incredibly different than when he started in 2021, give that man another year getting coached up and he'll have us in the hunt again next year I promise. Then Nico the next year, we're going to be set at QB for a LONG time. They want to play for the Hype man!
I think him and HH being roommates actually helped him be a more complete QB too.

QB is the least of my worries...........for the near future.

DB's are what UT needs.....and they are on the way!
