Joe Milton 💪

I doubt anyone has forgot, but this kid has a Cannon for an arm.. he threw it 55 or 60 yds, off balance & moving to his right, & almost complete it... I hope he learns to get a little more accurate, know when to take some heat off the ball, & he'll be just fine next year

We didn't win by it, but we scored FIDDY!
🍊🍊🍊GBO!!

Milton has looked good in the playing time he has had this year. He has learned quite a bit from when he got here last year. I fully anticipate he will be our starting QB and do extremely well next year. There will be a lot of people on here having to eat crow for the constant disrespect they’ve shown him.

The throw was actually really good. Wr got his hands on it. I think it was Bru, he just couldn’t pull it down. Milton’s deep ball has never really been that much in question. He just needs to show he can execute the offense when the game gets tight. It’s all mental, kid has every physical tool to be successful.
Actually him not being able to hit the deep ball was the exact problem. He looks much improved.

I don't know where you're getting this confidence that Milton has gained gray matter in the head and accuracy in his arm. I think it's wishful thinking not grounded in evidence. That said, I do hope you're right
All you have to do is watch him in warm ups if you're at a game. Yes, being in a game is different but he has accuracy now and touch on his passes. Last year he was was trying to throw everything as hard as he could.

Edit - I expect him to be in the whole second half of UTM if not sooner.

I really don't see him as our future. He's never going to have the smarts and clutch gene to lead this team to the heights that we now expect. I could be wrong but I don't see him being that guy. For example, I don't see him ever being capable of doing watch HH did with 15 secs left yesterday

Don't doubt Heupel's ability to coach up players, especially QB's. Hooker is a completely different player from the one we heard about when he transferred here, and has become a bonafide stud after a year in Heupel's system. Milton will have that same full off season before being handed the reins - not saying he will match Hooker, but he will be a lot better than what we've seen of him.

I agree 100 percent. Every time he comes in he does nothing but drop dimes.

2 years of development time in a stable system under advanced coaches is an eternity for a young athlete.

Agree totally. Hyatt, Squirrel, and our other receivers will help Milton receive many votes next year for All-SEC honors by the end of the season.

We are beginning to get receivers that know how to get separation. If our OL next year is above avg, Milton will get tons of TD's

Tayven Jackson isn't exactly chopped liver. He was highly rated coming out of H.S. Past that, his dad played several years of pro ball as a db, so he possesses an excellent football pedigree. I hope he's given an opportunity to play some meaningful snaps this weekend.

I don’t disagree with you on that, but Milton has earned significant reps when we get a chance to put him in. He’s the clear #2 guy at the moment. Jackson will have his time one day (if he chooses to stay).

Our ol played very good Saturday, Hooker had time to throw on most every down, much more time than I thought he would have facing Bama

Yeah
I wiah we had a coach on staff who could develop him. Then maybe his raw talent could be refined..

Milton came in last year and won the starting job with nothing but raw, God-given ability but he was not in command of the offense and it was obvious he needed more time. Fast forward to this year and we have already seen growth from him in the short opportunities he has had. We will have a great stable of QB’s this off-season but I expect the Joe Milton we saw at the beginning of the ‘21 season will not be the same guy we see in ‘23. I for one am excited to see what he brings to the field next year.
