Joe Milton III performance

I ask for your credentials not someone else's. Those numbers you conveniently posted were for the Ga. Game.
Oh..my credentials are my eyes. You seem personally but hurt that I have an opinion that differs from yours. I’ve been watching football for 45 years. I know a pro when I see one.
Time may make a fool of me. It may prove that I know what I’m talking about. People that know more than both of us combined have 5 QB’s rated higher.

Anyone still worried about QB next year after seeing those two freaking on the money lasers Joe threw in the 4th quarter today? What an arm!!!
I'm still worried. I don't know that worried is the correct term, but I still have a wait and see approach until I see Milton when he's having to execute in some pressure type situations. I don't necessarily mean pressure on the QB. I mean game pressure as in we got to have a drive this time out, or we have to have a score and it's our last time to have the ball. Have to see that he has shaken the poor decision making such as he had in the Ole Miss game last year. The arm has never been a question. There is a reason he was the starter over Hooker at the beginning of last season. Much easier to look good in practice or low pressure situations.

I am hopeful though after seeing him this year in mop up duty. He seems to have progressed this year.

Why all this surprise? He’s made several mind blowing those this year. I’m calling it right now, he will break every single season passing record on the books at UT next year.

So many on here said Milton doesn’t have it. He cannot improve and will never be a good QB. I hope the ones who said that wand you eating their words.

He's always had the physical tools. We'll just have to wait and see if he puts it all together as the starter. If he does.... he's gonna be some kinda special.

He wasn’t here for spring practice last year and didn’t have as good of an understanding of the playbook as Hooker and the others. He’s a lot more comfortable with the system now and is the team’s emotional leader. He’s a really high character kid and very intelligent.

Milton is one of my least concerns about next year. He’ll be fine.

Your wrong. Draft will prove this out.
Draft???? PGreat college QB does not always translate to pro QB. The draft does not tell you anything about college QB performance. Look at Levis and his draft stock for an example. Do you want Levis as your college QB? Many (including the Colts) seem to want him as their pro QB.

Vols should find the fastest track man around teach him to catch the ball next year and just say run and tell Milton to out throw him to the endzone every play hahahaha
You mean someone like Squirrel??? Believe I heard he has track speed that is comparable to Olympians in track.

Not trying to be a jerk but you’re making a straw man argument. All I said is that I believe Hooker to be a system QB. He is a GREAT QB in our system. I’ve never questioned that. When I watch him he has too many flaws to be an NFL QB. Accuracy and arm strength being my biggest concerns. I’ve seen Milton make 6 throws this year in just 25 attempts that Hendon is not physically capable of making.

Hope you're correct, and you may very well be. I just still need to see that he can lead the game and not step out of bounds on 4th down when it's your last chance to try and win a game. Those types of things were his issues last season. We haven't seen anything this year to prove different on those things because he has not been in the games when those decisions are being made.

You said the draft will prove your opinion. My arguement is the draft proves nothing because a great pro QB is not necessarily a great college QB. It's an apples to oranges comparision.

The only thing Joe lacked was touch. Looks like he's found it. Come this time next year he could be Number One in most NFL Draft Boards. The kid has the strongest arm in Football
If he stays healthy and keeps his head on straight he’ll be the first player chosen. He has a generational arm. Combine that with his size and athleticism he has the potential to be an all time CFB great.

Well you failed at not trying and succeeded at becoming a jerk.
Just enjoy it and let the NFL scouts and Pros do their job.
Projected as of last week to be in the late first round.
Arm strength and accuracy are fine, but what would you know.
If you are an NFL Scout what are you doing posting on this board.
So it is best to say IYO (in your opinion)
Bye.

Edit: HH's biggest asset is his processing speed and his read on defenses. Has nothing to do with the system as much as it has with his ability to read and process. System or no system.

Nah. He lacked decision making in game speed as well.

Is it just me or is the forum doing some aggressive auto-correction? More like auto-substitution. More than usual, anyway.

You said he was maybe the most talented QB in the country, yes? If that were the case he would be the first player chosen in the draft. That’s a fact. He’s projected mid second round with 5 QB’s ahead of him. That doesn’t scream most talented QB in the country.

That wasn't me. I didn't say anyone was the most talented QB in the country. If I was asked that question, I'd had probably leaned to Bryce Young up until he was injured.

He has moved up to the late 1st round - Minnesota Vikings
Another board has him the 5th overall pick - Houston
Another board has him as the 7th overall pick - Detroit
