Buddy, it's amazing you have kept your head on as well as you have, given what she's been through. God has blessed you with a wonderful family and a strong inner constitution. I seriously about lost my mind in 2013 with my wife intubated all that time. Even now, she has very bad days sometimes because she never fully recovered from that long period of having the trach. She has non-combat PTSD because of her ordeal, and I hope that's something Tiffany doesn't develop if this drags out more than it has already. You have the thoughts and prayers of many of us here on VN behind you. Stay strong, my friend.Tiffany just told me something that I think bothers me more than her. She said they asked her at the hospital if something happened, and she flatlined, if she wanted to be resuscitated. Bunch of crazy thoughts, especially after the last fentanyl incident, but more worried that they see her getting worse. Idk, it's just screwed with my head for a moment.
I'd say that was, and is rough for your wife. She'll be in our prayers.Buddy, it's amazing you have kept your head on as well as you have, given what she's been through. I don’t know if this will help, but hospitals are required to ask patients how they would want to be treated if things went south, if they don’t have advanced directives or a living will on file. I’ve always been asked this, even for a relatively minor day surgery or procedure.Tiffany just told me something that I think bothers me more than her. This is absolutely true, thank you for mentioning it, Exie. I had to watch a video about "worst case scenario" before having my wisdom teeth removed. Don't look more in to it than need be.I don’t know if this will help, but hospitals are required to ask patients how they would want to be treated if things went south, if they don’t have advanced directives or a living will on file. So I doubt that they asked her because they think that she’s getting worse. More likely, they asked her because for once, they actually did what they were supposed to do.

It’s called a DNR. It’s not crazy thoughts and it has nothing to do with Tiffany’s prognosis going forward. Nothing. It has all to do with you both have been through the ringer and now being worried and dissecting everything and anything a health professional tells or asks. Perfectly normal to do so. Call tomorrow and get clarification for piece of mind. Guarantee they wouldn’t jump to asking that without a diagnosis and discussing with her first. Guaranteed. Call tomorrow just to give peace of mind.Tiffany just told me something that I think bothers me more than her. More amazing that they haven't already asked. Do you have a living will? It is a good document to sit down and talk over. It's painful, especially when you are facing an illness. GVG and I had to make one out for her literally as the Dr. was telling me that she only had a day or so left if he didn't start Chemo the next day. Fortunately, the Lord and VN prayers intervened and we didn't have to carry it out. Getting witnesses to sign her will that night was brutal. We still have to refine ours but we at least have both docs now.I don’t know if this will help, but hospitals are required to ask patients how they would want to be treated if things went south, if they don’t have advanced directives or a living will on file.
