Joe's 10 day trip to yankee land/Tiffany's surgery thread

Me and little bit went to see her again. God willing, 2 weeks from today we're going to Knoxville. They scheduled her to have the stints removed, and he's going to put a camera in there. He's hoping to see something that nobody else has seen, so they can figure out what keeps causing the infections.
Nice picture of Tiffany and little bit, only wish that Tiffany was all better and done with hospitals.......

My mom was in the hospital one time and they couldn't figure out what was going on (unrelated to the cancer). A team of doctors had been trying to figure things out, and finally another doc on staff heard about mom's case and wanted to look at her blood under a microscope. She found mom had an infection in her blood and there was a very specific way to treat it.

Sometimes it's just getting the right doctor. Praying that's the case for Tiffany this time.

Thank you, and hopefully the guy in Knoxville can find something.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and came home to get ready. Middle daughter was supposed to work, but I texted her to come home. I haven't told her what's going on, just said mom was depressed because she wasn't coming home today, and really needed us. I'll tell them when they get here. It explains the heart rate I guess, and her shortness of breath. She texted me she was scared, and I had a little break down at work, couldn't help it. I'm scared, have been, but worse now. Trying to get myself together before the girls get home.

I know they have medicine that can dissolve a clot, but that makes 3 in the last couple of weeks or something like that. First two in her arm, now this, I'm just scared her body has fought all it can.

Little update, talked with the dr., and she said it's a serious situation, but confident in the medicine to do it's thing. They'll keep her on the iv heparin for 24 hours, then she'll have to take a shot for a few months to stay safe. She's still having issues with her heart rate, but the dr. said it was because of the artery the clot was in. Heart rate and breathing should improve as the clot disappears. This particular medicine is supposed to stop it from growing anymore, and help it dissolve. She said it's dangerous, just because of the risk of it breaking loose and going to her heart or brain, but again, she's confident in the treatment. She's cheered up with us being here, they actually let me come back again with the girls. There's technically a 2 person limit. Thank you guys for the prayers.

So, you have the answer about the shortness of breath and fast heart rate!

I would assume the trip to Knoxville is out now. Just gives that doc more time to think on the situation before she's ready for that procedure.

Most likely, we were just talking about that earlier. He wants her to be semi stable when he does that procedure, this will likely mess it up for a while.
