John Adams "Gets it"

I do not agree with this article. UT football is bigger than one player or one coach. UT football is a combined effort of everyone who has ever coached or played at UT. From here on out though, between coach Jay Graham, or coach Butch Jones, the only one whose impact on the program matters is the one who is still here. Thanks for your contribution to UT football Jay Graham, but your contribution to this storied program has ended. As for coach Butch Jones, you have my full support. God speed my good man.

No JA fan here - but c'mon folks, he is obviously right.

At this stage none of you have any evidence that CBJ can get it done in the SEC. Zero. His one recent experience with it, he lost to Dools. Some of you are just wishing and hoping while talking big. Give it a rest until he proves he can win with the best. Graham just walked from a 3 year contract with 2 years remaining at his dream school and alma mater in the top conference. Does that not tell you something?

Yeah it tells me that we have some un-loyal, money hungry ex-players that talk like they support their alma mater when they really don't care about anything other than getting as rich as possible in the shortest amount of time.. The almighty dollar trumps any kind of loyalty in this college football business. And don't act like he was getting paid in peanuts either..

I could've saved time and read the Graham threads here on VN...he almost copy-pasted everything here into a "story"...but he didn't cite VN as a source!!!

:loco: :p :)

John Adams makes this about race and how many "black coaches" Tennessee has on its staff. I really hate the South sometimes. It's embarrassing. Truly embarrassing.

the only thing it tells me is that you are talking like you know what went down with Graham. Was you there ?
If you wasnt then your just trying to talk big like you have a clue and got it all figured out.

Coasty u r so right... cbj tells us he is going to bring in the best staff n understands tn... yet he brings in his staff.. he can't even retain the one coach that has any history with tn football...

N yes john Adams gets it more than most homer vols fans...lol

Exactly. If this is the best football staff in America, Butch would never had lost to Doolander. The Big Orange nuclear winter continues.

I appreciate loyalty as much as anyone else. However this, "I played at Tennessee and therefore I will give up everything to stay at Tennessee", is not a decision many people with bills to pay and a life to enjoy are willing to give this extreme sacrifice for! No one, or not many are willing to back a loser. Tennessee as much as I love everything about the program is not a winner right now and if someone is offered "greener pastures", more than likely they are going to go and taste the sweet grass!!!

That's what I thought when I read his article. Almost a word for word summary of what was posted and commented on here -- on VN. I honestly believe that he got more than half of his material from this site.

Or maybe it all comes down to the fact, jay was upset he wasnt named recruiting coordinator. hmmm.... he was also the 2nd lowest paid coach on the staff. But if he was offered more money to stay, then I will stick with the recruiting coordinator issue. Either way, Adios. If you dont want to be here, we dont want you here, doesnt matter who you are.

come on coach get us a good one :dance2:

The next hire really is about race. If you don't think so, bet me he'll be white. The percentages are with you.

I'm afraid I agree with John Adams, we both see the program as it really is...no sugar coating.....sadly I'm used to it by now and just take it in stride. I've said it more than once, you better have a good sence of humor these days around Good Ol Rock Top....and plenty of patience to boot.....The Dark Ages are upon Us my fellow Vowel fans
