John Adams "Gets it"

Or maybe he just has an opinion that isn't the same as yours

He has an obligation to report the facts but mixed with his professional opinion. I don't see any hard reporting facts, but rather a tabloid garage wrapper approach.....done solely to generate readership numbers....

Modern day reporting/journalism = throw it up against the wall and see what crap sticks.

NO. Adams takes every opportunity to accentuate the negative concerning UT. Always has; always will. I wish someone would hire him away from KNS--and then promply FIRE HIM. lsu man.

Yes, because what the KNS needs is more garbage writers like Mike Griffith. Adams is one of the few writers at KNS that writes material worth reading. Strange is the other.

What John Adams "got" was a bunch of people to read his article. The reality of the situation is much less dramatic.

1. CJG took a job that he felt was best for his career.
2. Tennessee now has an opening for a RB and an opportunity to upgrade the staff.

Coasty u r so right... cbj tells us he is going to bring in the best staff n understands tn... yet he brings in his staff.. he can't even retain the one coach that has any history with tn football...

N yes john Adams gets it more than most homer vols fans...lol

Butch Jones did not say he was going to bring in the best staff in America in the opinion of 92volalum.

Who is to say they are not the best? They haven't coached a game yet.

Not particularly impressed with JA article. No new insight here. I remember when JG came to UT and I was damn glad to have him. So much for JG being drawn to his alma mater against all odds or whatever. Left after what, 15 months? And everybody in the media says we gotta have a black coach replace him. I say only if he's the best option/ best recruiter. The best choice will be heralded regardless of his skin color. If he lands Jalen Hurd and other 5 and 4 stars he'll be a star on the hill.

Life is too short to read anything by Adams, ever. Alternatively I could hit myself in the head with a hammer or do a thousand more useful things than those two. F'adams.

As we used to say in East Tennessee ... I just aint got no use fer 'im.

I do not agree with this article. UT football is bigger than one player or one coach. UT football is a combined effort of everyone who has ever coached or played at UT. From here on out though, between coach Jay Graham, or coach Butch Jones, the only one whose impact on the program matters is the one who is still here. Thanks for your contribution to UT football Jay Graham, but your contribution to this storied program has ended. As for coach Butch Jones, you have my full support. God speed my good man.

UT football is a dumpster fire that does not have many victories, on or off of the field, lately.

So many of you like to talk trash about the writers that disagree with your orange colored opinions.

This article says what many people are thinking. Whether you apologists agree with it or not, does not matter.

Yes; however, prepare to be bashed by the Sons of the Orange Dog.

Jay, serious question. What exactly do you get out of this? What are you looking for when you use disparaging remarks about people trying to feel good about something?

SMH. The cave scriber strikes again with this intelligent nugget,
"UT football is a dumpster fire that does not have many victories, on or off of the field, lately."
Please enlighten us with something that we all are not aware of. And to sate us apologist's, would you care to expound upon your statement? Or would you prefer to remain an apologist for the KNS writer that uses his "position" to degrade our Vol's at every opportunity?

I'm not looking for anything. Ask the same question to those that disparage anything anyone posts that doesn't claim all is well. It's a two-way street.

I will admit that I'm pissed about the state of the UT AD. Everyone should be, and the number of folks that share that view is getting larger not smaller. I haven't bashed Jones, but I have little confidence in him. He is better than Dooley, but that's not good enough. I think he will be a 7-8 win/year coach on average with a 6 win possibly a 9 win season sprinkled in. Yes, it's improvement, but not enough. That's my views, but I'm not going to trash the guy before he coaches a game at UT. I will comment on what he has done so far as others do. I am not a fan of his rah-rah style, but if it works, great. The attitude that every coach that leaves is terrible and every new coach is an upgrade simply is ridiculous. Many of the same folks that proclaimed Graham was an awesome hire now are trashing the guy for leaving questioning his "VFL" status. That's ridiculous. Jay Graham has done more for the football program than any of us will ever do, yet he was terrible here and we didn't want him in the first place after he leaves. Again, ridiculous. Everything isn't positive at UT now. Remaining positive about Dooley didn't help much and it won't now. Somewhere along the way, always being positive has been equated as the only way to be a fan. That's irrational garbage. I'm not always positive with my daughters, yet I love them more than anything. I would be a bad father if I led them to believe everything is always great and didn't point out where they are lacking. When you love something, and despite my Legion of Doom/negavol status here, you should be willing to raise concerns as well as praise successes. I love UT and UT football. I will continue to raise concerns as I see them knowing that anything short of glowing praise will be looked upon with contempt here. Doesn't bother me one bit. I actually find it oddly humorous and entertaining.

I don't dislike Jones. I don't blame him for anything. He is taking a great opportunity- not doing us favors- and is getting paid handsomely for doing so. That's not automatically admirable, it's expected and smart business.

You're not gonna trash the guy, you're just gonna trash the people who want to show support for him. Gotcha.

From my point of view, a person who ~continues to raise concerns as they see them expecting that anything short of glowing praise will be looked upon with contempt here, and isn't bothered one bit, and actually finds it oddly humorous and entertaining~ has an ulterior motive. But that's just my opinion.

And I respect your right to have that opinion. No, I'm going to trash the folks that trash less than glowing posts. We don't gee and haw. That's life. It is humorous to see the same predictable posts from the same predictable people. Life is fun, and I enjoy every second of it.

I will say this much, if you knew me as well as you think you do, you would realize that I'm not shy about saying exactly what I mean to anyone. If you think there's some vast planned conspiracy, that's on you, not me.
