John Adams "Gets it"

And I respect your right to have that opinion. No, I'm going to trash the folks that trash less than glowing posts. We don't gee and haw. That's life. It is humorous to see the same predictable posts from the same predictable people. Life is fun, and I enjoy every second of it.

I will say this much, if you knew me as well as you think you do, you would realize that I'm not shy about saying exactly what I mean to anyone. If you think there's some vast planned conspiracy, that's on you, not me.

So per your avi, do you think hiring butch was the death of vol football? If so, you did you want to hire?

Dude, please. LOL I don't claim to know you. Motive to elicit a response is a little different then a "planned conspiracy". Which kind of proves my point.

To be honest, it's an old avy. I post on mobile 99% of the time, so I really don't pay attention to them.

To answer your query: upon reflection, no. It happened way before December 7.

What's wrong with eliciting a response? Is that not the purpose of a message board, to elicit responses? How one responds is up to each individual.

You talk pretty definitively about me to make that claim.

Let's not allow pesky facts to get in the way of a good story, though.

Oh, I would never do that.

How many folks will get asked what their motives are by ridiculing a 'negative' post????

Edit: That's a rhetorical question, btw, intended to provoke thought not elicit a response.

Poster A ridicules Poster B because he asserts that he got to know everything he needed to know about CLK on a 55 minute (supposedly) flight from Lexington to Knoxville.

Poster B makes fun of Poster A's economic standing as a response.

Which poster will be asked about their motives? Explain your answer.

Like you, I am not intending to elicit a response. That would mean that I have some sort of dark, ulterior motive.

SMH. The cave scriber strikes again with this intelligent nugget, Please enlighten us with something that we all are not aware of. And to sate us apologist's, would you care to expound upon your statement? Or would you prefer to remain an apologist for the KNS writer that uses his "position" to degrade our Vol's at every opportunity?

In case you haven't noticed, it doesn't take much effort to talk bad about UT right now. The people in charge seem to not care enough to fix it.

I don't care much for Mr. Adams. However, this particular article is pretty much what every person that isn't blinded by orange rainbows is thinking.

I hear you loud and clear.

I despise Adams, but that doesn't mean he is always wrong. This is one time that I think he's at least in the same zip code, unfortunately.

The problem isn't that John Adams doesnt tell the truth because he does most of the time. The problem is how he sprinkles in shots and jabs at UT in every article.

I respect that. Unfortunately, UT hasn't made him work hard at finding things to take jabs at.

I'm not looking for anything. Ask the same question to those that disparage anything anyone posts that doesn't claim all is well. It's a two-way street.

I will admit that I'm pissed about the state of the UT AD. Everyone should be, and the number of folks that share that view is getting larger not smaller. I haven't bashed Jones, but I have little confidence in him. He is better than Dooley, but that's not good enough. I think he will be a 7-8 win/year coach on average with a 6 win possibly a 9 win season sprinkled in. Yes, it's improvement, but not enough. That's my views, but I'm not going to trash the guy before he coaches a game at UT. I will comment on what he has done so far as others do. I am not a fan of his rah-rah style, but if it works, great. The attitude that every coach that leaves is terrible and every new coach is an upgrade simply is ridiculous. Many of the same folks that proclaimed Graham was an awesome hire now are trashing the guy for leaving questioning his "VFL" status. That's ridiculous. Jay Graham has done more for the football program than any of us will ever do, yet he was terrible here and we didn't want him in the first place after he leaves. Again, ridiculous. Everything isn't positive at UT now. Remaining positive about Dooley didn't help much and it won't now. Somewhere along the way, always being positive has been equated as the only way to be a fan. That's irrational garbage. I'm not always positive with my daughters, yet I love them more than anything. I would be a bad father if I led them to believe everything is always great and didn't point out where they are lacking. When you love something, and despite my Legion of Doom/negavol status here, you should be willing to raise concerns as well as praise successes. I love UT and UT football. I will continue to raise concerns as I see them knowing that anything short of glowing praise will be looked upon with contempt here. Doesn't bother me one bit. I actually find it oddly humorous and entertaining.

I don't dislike Jones. I don't blame him for anything. He is taking a great opportunity- not doing us favors- and is getting paid handsomely for doing so. That's not automatically admirable, it's expected and smart business.

So UT hasn't historically been good enough.....in my 35 (now 36) years following the Vols, this is all we ever have been.

As long as it's accepted that's all we'll ever be. That comes from my 41 years of following the Vols if there's a senoirity deal going on.

82_VOL_83 is correct. UT is, historically, a 68% winning team...or about 8-4 on average. Michigan is tops with a winning percentage of 73%. Let's see if this pastes correctly.

That make Michigan...the highest rated team....roughly a 9-3 team on average. Teams 2 - 8 fall on avg somewhere between 8 - 4 and 9 - 3.

Sounds like it is all pretty much a wash to me, but don't let this little bit of info skew any of the fine arguments going on in here.

No JA fan here - but c'mon folks, he is obviously right.

At this stage none of you have any evidence that CBJ can get it done in the SEC. Zero. His one recent experience with it, he lost to Dools. Some of you are just wishing and hoping while talking big. Give it a rest until he proves he can win with the best. Graham just walked from a 3 year contract with 2 years remaining at his dream school and alma mater in the top conference. Does that not tell you something?
And you have absolutely no evidence that Coach isn't going to come in and be a success out the gate. Who are you to tell fans not to get excited? Who are you to tell fans they can't have a boat load of optimism. Its football. Every emotion and personality is allowed at the table. Even your pessimistic a@#. I can predict CBJ will run the table his first year and shock college football. Crazy? Yes, but I have the right to be that optimistic. You can call me names now.
