Memphis rivals boards says it is a done deal and they want to talk to Missouri's coach.

Well I hope Cal falls flat on his face for taking the job. I don't see that happening - but the guy just doesn't see what he's got at Memphis I guess and he may start feeling that affect in 2 years if UK is not back in the Sweet 16 atleast. UK was going to have talent whether they fired CBG or not - but I would have to say I think Cal is the better recruiter but I think CBG is every bit the coach he is (and has the edge in certain areas) in terms of defense and offensive game plans. Cal won't be as harsh and rough around the edges with everything of course like CBG was.
Has anyone cared to look at CatsPause
These pathetic fans are picking players on their team who should be cut from the team to make room for their dream team of recruits & transfers.
I had no clue these people were that demented mentally.
Not sure why you are so upset about a guy going for more money and a more prestigious program. It makes sense to me.

Maybe some of those guys are dating girls 3 years younger than them. That would certainly warrant pulling their scholarships.Has anyone cared to look at CatsPause

But hes done this before and failed. Not sure why you are so upset about a guy going for more money and a more prestigious program. It makes sense to me.

Ok, maybe I implied too much in the original post, but "notverycrucial" said that Cal was tired of the disrespect at Memphis. That, to me, meant that he was tired of Memphis being disrespected because they played in C-USA.
I don't think anybody is disrespecting Cal, himself.
But hes done this before and failed.
Cal built a great program at UMass and had the opportunity to turn UMass into a consistent elite program similar to how UConn is now in college basketball.
Everyone said he did all he could do at UMass and he left for more money and more prestige with the New Jersey Nets
He failed.
Returned to Memphis and built a program as good or if not better there and now everyone is saying he did all he could do at Memphis and now he is leaving once again for more money and more prestige with Kentucky.
He just doesnt get it.
Chances are he'll fail again to live up to the ridiculous Kentucky basketball standards and end up back at square 1 again.
The guy could have gotten a raise out of Memphis from this whole ordeal anyway. He can win just as many titles at Memphis and can win them now.
But most importantly - he's leaving his job (where he is a god) for the most dysfunctional fan base in America with a pretty screwed up athletic department as well. So what's he getting? A building (UM facilities >>> UK's) with more banners hung in the rafters and the SEC label? Since the SEC is so highly regarded in basketball?
I just do not understand his logic. Would seem fairly clear to me if I was in his shoes. I'm not upset - I despise both programs so don't really care either way - but I still hope he falls on his face and regrets his decision down the road.
Thats never been done before from recent memory. They are a little crazy for sure but they have a good point depends on who comes with Cal and which players keep there LOI with UK for next year. Uk will have to cut players or move them to some other kinda scholarship.

This is not College Hoops 2K9, this is real life and these are real student-athletes on this basketball team.
You dont cut a collegiate player if he is doing the right thing just because you may have a transfer coming in who's a better player.
This isn't the NBA, this is college basketball for christ sakes.

What standards? Kentucky's standards in basketball mirror Tennessee's standards in football. Once mighty, now mediocrity reigns. But hes done this before and failed.

The only way to satisfy the retarded Kentucky fan base is to reach the Sweet 16 every season and to win a National Championship every 3 seasons.I think he'll do well at UK - but I definitely don't think he'll satisfy the retarded Kentucky fan base. Don't think that is possible.
Am I reading this wrong or do you think UM has better facilities than UK?
If you think that I really don't understand how you figure that.
UK is always going to be one of the TOP 5 college basketball jobs. And with the ESPN contract all of UK's games will be on tv next year and you never see UM on TV. And he hates Patinio so I am sure he will love to go against him year in and year out.
Kentucky is a more prestigious job than the New Jersey Nets.Well, I guess the NJ Nets and KY are comparable now. If he builds teams similar to his Memphis teams, he will succeed @ KY.
