Like I've said before, this is not necessarily about the money. I think Cal was sick of being disrespected for playing in C-USA for one, but there are numerous issues involved in a decision like this.

Billy saying he was "The luckiest guy in the world" was about as to-the-point as he could get. You need to take off those blue shades and rewind your dvr. You people are self righteous, and you'll undoubtedly ruin your next coach's perception of that being a "dream job".
Remember this, running off your coach after two years is not a sign of stability. Its a sign of delusional expectations and blue hairs with itchy trigger fingers. The rest of the nation has made note of it.
Our coach was not doing his job as required in the contract that he did NOT sign. Its not about x's and o's. Here at Kentucky you have more requirements as a coach than just giving people something to do between football seasons, my friend.
If UT made the lane Kiffin announcement during halftime of the orange/rose bowl and I said the same thing about your program, you would get your panties in a wad.
FYI, I am not self-righteous nor do I wear blue-tinted shades. You can pretty much ask any other vol-fan on this forum, if you want proof.
So continue to say what you want, and go on your personal crusade against me and other Kentucky fans. I am leaving now, so I can't continue this arguement. So have fun.
Who was he disrespected by? Just some of UT fans on the board that called their University "little brother"? His OOC and success in the tourney speaks for itself.
I guarantee it wasn't a respect issue. He's gained enough respect from his FF and championship game appearances.
And I would hardly say Lexington > Memphis. So what does he gain out of it? Just a bigger check book and the crap that comes with the delusional Kentucky fan base that drove Tubby and CBG off. Also Memphis has better facilities to use and he is their greatest coach ever - he'll hardly be that at UK. So he'll get to play in the SEC instead of C-USA... the SEC was barely better than C-USA this year.
You are dead wrong. The disrespect Memphis gets goes well beyond just UT fan's opinions.
And for those that said consider the source, I fully understand that. I just wanted to throw it out there to see how right or wrong he ends up being.

Reporting that UK has scheduled a meeting with the basketball players at 4:30 PM today.
I'm dead wrong? Care to back that up? Oh - so now a small minority of a Louisville fan base or former C-USA teams are bashing him on message boards as well? Like I said - FFs and the championship game appearances speak for themselves. He's earned enough respect that will probably be a HoF coach and is one of the top 5 coaches coaching today. Not too shabby.
He has just as good of a chance to win a title at Memphis than at UK - and he can win a title at Memphis in the near future. Would take several years at UK (if they decide to be patient this time around).
Dude! I never said that Calipari didn't deserve respect. I said that Memphis being disrespected goes well beyond UT fans. Chill out, tough guy!
