The Accountability comes to your doorstep now, Big boy. You've been somewhat "untouchable", for whatever reason. but after that Piss-Poor performance tonight (I personally counted FIFTEEN missed tackles on key plays) your number is up. The Vol defense makes mistakes that simply shouldn't be made.

We crucified Sanders (and rightfully so) and continually wonder when Fulmer's time is up. but both losses this year fall (I feel) to the Defense.

There, consider this a vent and discard it if you like.

I believe the blown call by the refs on the Russell fumble is what done us in. But, I do agree that we missed way to many tackles...

i love chavis and talked to him on several occasions and he is a hell of a nice guy. after watching that last drive though, i have to agree with you. he and his D did not get the job done.

I'm disappointed too. But calm down. Calm down. Chavis is an asset and we can't jump the gun.

:huggy:

I agree that Chavis needs to do some soul searching. I won't say he needs to be fired, but losing the game in the 4th quarter happens too much.

Give me a break. Give us all a break. You really want the best DC in the country to be fired over this game? The players play the game; remember that.

Jeez.

Can't win them all. Still, I think the only reason we were in the game is because LSU dropped about 15 passes in the first half that my grandmother could have caught.

Tough game to watch. When they got the 4th and 8, I knew it was pretty much over at that point.

Chavis has had a fairly down year, but he's still one of the best out there.

Don't misunderstand me--I'm not calling for Chavis to be Canned. but like I said, it seems like he gets a free pass when Fulmer and (especially) Sanders don't, and didn't.

Look here a second. LSU up to tonight has been more of a passing team and the Vols D played the pass pretty darn well. You can't shut down everything and the Tigers just got hot running the ball.

jeez guys, this one, and florida game are on the D, horrible in the secondary at times (but also hit hard by two major injuries). But Chavis is one of the best in the nation. Get some perspective!

The defense is pretty banged up.

UT has lost the starting CB, DT, and middle LB to injuries this year. Not mentioning losing 6 of the starting 7 from last year.

The defense did create a lot of turnovers. UT just seems to lose to many key players year end year out to injuries. The brutal SEC scedule is a big part of the reason.

it wasnt the run that did us in. it was the pass is key situations. :aggressive:

That plus allowing that great slow lumbering beast Russell gain 71 yards running. Also, new strategy to beat UT. Go for it on 4th down no matter what the yardage needed.

The problem is that tonight is, to me, the prototype John Chavis defense. There will be anywhere from 4-10 guys in the vicinity of where the ballcarrier goes down, but any sort of counters, draws, or misdirections go for HUGE yardage.

Anyone else see shades of the '01 SEC title game tonight defensively?

Chavis and the entire defense stunk tonight! Too many missed tackles, not enough pressure on Russell at the end. Yes there was a blown call on the Russell fumble..BUT Morley touched that ball on the punt...evens out. We were out muscled up front and couldn't do anything consistantly. Hats off to the Tigers they overcame adversity and won a Bigtime game!:frown:

Bashing the dc after his defense provides 4 turnovers is probably a mistake. I'd fault your offense long before I'd fault your defense.

I just saw an LSU team that was too fast.

i don't think so. just because your fast there is no reason for chavis not to bring the house on 4th and 8, or to miss around 50 tackles in the game. i honestly think we were the better team tonight. we were just outcoached.

Nope I disagree..they are way more talented than Tennessee..we just couldn't tackle a fence post tonight!..Or last week for that matter!
