As a big proponent of Gruden as coach, and an only slightly serious contributor to this thread, I'd like to remind the legion of Barbaras, that if Dooley would just win a conference game we probably wouldn't have this conversation.

No....those of us who would like to see a big name hire here, would still have been here having our fun, but maybe it wouldn't have attracted all the butthurt Barbara Doorights.

Look, I like Dooley and have been a big defender of his. The best thing for Tennessee is for him to be successful now. That is my desire. However, reality is starting to set in with me. It's time to start having the conversation. If you don't like it there are dozens of other active threads to take part in.

Matt Hinckin is reporting John Gruden was seen sharing a double cheese and Italian sausage pizza, and a pitcher of Yuingling with Taylor Laughtner at Big Ed's pizza in Oak Ridge.

Hmm Gruden is not he answer, what has he done? Do we want someone who just looks like "chuckle" wandering the sidelines? He took someone else's players to the super bowl. I don't think he could take these guys anywhere. I think we should go after Dan Mullens at Miss St. Look what he has done with no where near the talent of Tennessee.

As has been stated previously in this thread, the other team in that Super Bowl was full if his players. That point is really not a point at all.

Seriously? The 'powers to be' would rather sell tickets to other SEC fans to watch their teams beat us in Neyland than to turn the program around and gain revenues through winning?

It would really help if whatever forecasts are being used were shared a bit broader. I can't understand the economics of how it's better to let a traditional winning program collapse than it is to invest in rebuilding it.


Bama provided the template for what it will take to fix UT.

With the Haslem's investing in the Browns, is a winning UT football program now all but dead for the foreseeable future? Dead is defined as Dooley is the best coach we can get. :hi:

Sanctions or not....I don't want Mullen. Would be another completely underwhelming hire. The only thing he's shown is an ability to beat Florida occasionally.

When Mullen is known better as MSU head coach and not Urbans OC you might have a point worth discussing.
