I'm still waiting for AD Hart to appear before the press and make some kind of announcement.

And waiting, and waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

I'll bet that when CDD is still here next season these same sad people will keep this silly thread going all next season too.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

Because of another 6-6 season...

For all the folks claiming that Gruden would never come, and bash folks that have heard otherwise:

1: No one has ever said that Gruden will definately coach here next season. We have only claimed that there is some pursuit and interest.

2: calling some of us "insiders" with a mocking attitude is laughable. No one that I've heard has claimed to be an insider. We may know people who are.

3: there have been talks offline to compare information. Sources are different and from different walks of life. The information is pretty consistant though.

4: we have all heard the same boring and disputed arguments against for awhile. I have no problem with you thinking nothing is going to happen with Gruden, and it may not. Just come with good information.

I see that Titan&VolFandude has posted something.....I can't tell what since I have him ignored. I'd bet money it would fall under the definition of trolling though.

Ironic.

Go sit in the UT press room and wait then.

How will the Gruden fans respond IF we win Saturday? Will that make any difference? Spare us the you know we will not, you don't.

I'll be thrilled! Can't wait for the game. I will however withold judgement until we play Bama and USCe. I still can't bring myself to use Miss St as a measuring stick....especially this Bulldog team whose quality wins are against Auburn and Kentucky.

That being said, I think they're a much more well coached, and disciplined team than us right now.

A win Saturday does not change my long term forecast that Dooley will keep us in the middle to low end of the SEC as long as he is here. Beating MSU or another team will feel good at the time, but not change the fact that for years to come, highlights will be few and far in between.

I can understand people being skeptical. Gruden is a big name in football. Who could possibly think that he would come to a lowly school like UT? But, we fans haven't had much to hang our hats on to at all the last couple years. This at least gives us hope that something good might happen soon. I wanted wins this year, and it looks like it won't happen. So the next best thing is for a coaching change. If there has been unofficial talk, then great. But, if those talks don't include a coach with a good rep, to get the great players, then we might as well keep CDD. I personally think we need a big splash coaching hire.

That was my reaction to what I see as the trash Dooley campaign being waged in this thread. I wonder how much of this has anything to do with success of the Vols and simply an attack against Dooley. Either we continue to improve, as Dooley was hired to do, or not and at some point a staff change will be made. Gruden has no proven track record on the college level at all and outside of the one NFL Championship a very mediocre history. Yes he is charismatic but that does not necessarily translate into wins.

Where does common sense enter into the equation? We have lost to two very good football teams who would have played very tough football against anyone on those particular games and both games were winnable for us. We may indeed lose to Bama, however so has everyone else. When we were at our best I'm not sure we could have beaten this years Bama squad anyway.

If you see the secondary improve their tackling abilities this weekend, for instance, would that temper your oust Dooley campaign?

You have my answer above....but, until we show the improvement to beat a traditional rival my opinion will not change.

Dooley has a CEILING of 7-8 wins in a good year. That is not good enough.

What bothers me most Medic is the in-game coaching. Play calling, adjustments, to name a couple. Plus the recruiting is not where it should be to compete with the upper tier programs. Look, personally, I think he's a pretty decent guy. Professionally, he hasn't shown me enough that if I were AD I'd keep him.
