0-12 against ranked opponents

1-8 on the road in the SEC (including loss to a Ky team

with a WR playing at the QB position)

These are called facts,Dooley lovers..Can u live with that?..Why should we have to be happy with mediocrity(or lack thereof rather)?

Time to get real with what is staring u right in the face.

What happens next year if Dooley returns for a fourth year and faces that helacious schedule? My guess is the results aren't gonna be pretty, probably worse than this year if he doesn't get his crap together...Not looking real good for him...But if you're happy with the way things are, then by all means, carry on.

The fact is that the ONLY person that really KNOWS if CDD is a good coach or not is Nick Saban who happens to be the best coach in college football.

Saban trained CDD for 7 years and tried to get him to go to Bama with him too.

Saban made CDD his Assistant HEAD COACH so if Saban got sick or hurt his team would be in the best hands and that does say alot.

Nick Saban says CDD is a very good coach and will rebuild Tennessee back to a SEC title contender so I'll believe the best College football coach in the country before I'll believe a bunch of disgruntled fans with zero real knowledge of college football and how to totally rebuild a roster and team.

Gruden will NEVER coach at Tennessee but you people keep stroking yourselves and dreaming.

VFL...GBO!!!

Good Lord.

Every team Nick Saban plays is a national title contender too.

I want Dooley to suceed (which does not look like it is going to happen) but if he dosen't I WANT GRUDEN

My top 5 coaches to replace the non winner:

1. Gruden- he's a SB champion coach. Took an awful Raider team to AFC Championship Game. WINNER

2. Another coach in the NFL now that isn't fairing as well as he did in college...... ONE PETE CARROLL. Seattle is ready for his return to the college ranks. He won at SC. That program was horrid prior to his arrival.

3. Bob Stoops- I think he would be great in the SEC. He can recruit with the best of them.

4.I'll be that guy because I want our program to win football games...... Bobby freaking Petrino (minus his secretary). I know he's scum but this isn't bible school. Tis better to have him on our sidelines than to look at him cross the field.

5. Charlie Strong- This guy is pulling big time recruits to L'ville.... enough said.

I know I'll get toasted on some of these but I WANT TO WIN!!!!!

I like your top 3....we part company on 4&5 however. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla though, right?

Exactly right..And I like both.:)

At least our #1 is the same, that's all that matters.

Actually, I'm kinda flexible on #4, just like the fact that he has WV playing so well..He is just winning and I want a winning coach..That being said, I could make a substitution and put Bob Stoops in there...And Charlie Strong is 5th b/c he has a winning record and a helluva recuriter.:)

I partially agree with you.

But you're #1 is all that matters.

I like Carroll too....but I'm afraid of his track record. I think he would get us in hot water.

I am afraid Petrino would bolt at the first sign of something else he percieved as better. Great coaching mind though.

Strong....I've said it all before. Great recruiter, underwhelming coach IMO. Success in the Big East is not the same as the SEC.....but I reserve the right to be wrong.

So I guess my revised list looks like this:

1)Jon Gruden

2)Lovie Smith
3)Chris Peterson
4)Bob Stoops
5)Charlie Strong

:dance2:

I think Petrino has hat in hand right now. I'm sure he would be very thankful to get back in the game.

I think Petrino is a great coaching mind, and he would be on my list if not for his "troubles"..That being said, he probably learned his lesson and would take advantage of any opportunity.:twocents:

Pretty good recruiter. Great leader. Amazing at evaluating talent. NFL experience. Great work ethic.

Stanford has had some great offenses lately with coaching Luck last year..He turned out to be the #1 pick in the NFL draft..I think you might be onto something here...

And of course, he coached under Harbaugh who is now coaching the 49ers in the NFL and turned them around b/c they weren't that good until last year.

Speaking of Stanford, do u think Shaw would ever leave there for another job or is he happy at Stanford?Reason I ask is the Peterson gets a job offer every time one presents itself..He has gotten several offers and turned them down b/c he is happy where he is plus his son requires special care..I think UCLA offered him $3M last year and he turned it down.

Apologize for the rambling.

Hmmmmmm. Wonder if Alabama asks for input from UT when they are looking for a coach? Or if Florida asked for anyone at UT to recommend them a coach?

It is possible to get stronger by making your opponents weaker.
