The fact is, with only a handful of exceptions, any college would LOVE to have him as head coach.

No fair, I'm discussing excellence with a person posting with an Obama Phone.

Oh have we stooped to personal insults? How did Obama get into this. BTW I think he likes Gruden.:eek:lol:

Gruden had some sort of deal where he got money from his previous job on top of his ESPN salary unless he takes a coaching job or something like that. I have heard-read this several times, but if its a Internet rumor thing it's very well coordinated.

Nothing to do with your post but how did u come up with that Grudenite #?:)

I'm guessing he doesn't really want an actual answer.

Hope y'all realize I am just poking fun nothing else. Hey, I'll admit that if Gruden were to ever agree to come to K'ville, if nothing else, the sideline show would be a hoot to watch.:baloon:

Don't care....never did.

So why is Gruden not coaching somewhere? Why did he quit to begin with? What if we ever hire him & he goes 1-11 his first year? Who do you guys go to next? Not having him at least gives y'all unrealistic hope.

Anyone we hire, including CDD, could conceivably go 1-11. But, our risk is better managed with Gruden.

And, again, I am not discussing Gruden in the sense that I think he's our next coach. I am merely making this point to respond to the suggestion that we pass on him, because there is a greater than 0% chance that he could fail.

I personally don't care whether people like or don't like Gruden. However, come with some good info and data to support your position. The pros CLEARLY out weight the cons for Gruden.

I think the mascot could have taken off the dog suit, put on some orange pants, assemble a staff, and accomplish as much as Dooley has. If that's as true as I believe it to be, how far we have fallen. Sheer talent and luck would have beaten a ranked team in that many tries but consistent failure takes hard work.

Chizik is on the hot seat at AU with a record of 31-13 in 4 years with a NC. Why is it that

some UT fans feel that below mediocre is "part of the process". We all know how Chizik got

there but he would get a 10 year pass at UT because of the ring.

I laughed, but not loudly...Because it just speaks of Dooley's inability to coach even the most simple of aspects of football like making sure there is the proper # of players on the field.(ex: the 2-pt.conversion attempt in the UGA game,we only had 9..Really..are u kidding me?):banghead2:

Gruden wouldn't make the same little mistakes as Dooley,IMO.

Because chizik was a one trick (newton) pony. He is not building anything that will last at auburn IMO. What kills me is that some people wanted him to come to UT.... Yuck.

:crazy:You should read the post a couple of times before responding. I in NO WAY want Gene Chizik. I am saying no big time program will settle for mediocrity. .467 isn't even mediocre.
