Oh? An 8/4 Gruden trumps an 8/4 Dooley? How smart would that be considering we would have to empty the coffers to get him? Especially on an untested SEC coach. Don't hand me the BS about a SB ring. Coach Fulmer has a NC ring and that wasn't good enough.

I wonder if Chizik's NC ring will get him lifetime employment at Auburn.

For conversation sake, say Gruden did decide to come here after this season and that made our NFL talent (Bray, Hunter, Patterson, etc) decide to come back for their Sr year, what would your expectations be from a W/L perspective?

It's obviously a little more complicated due to possible philosophy changes and such but forget all that for now. Just based off what you think about his coaching abilities and our roster.

Next year's schedule is rough....but in that scenario I would be looking for 8-9 wins first year. I'd be looking especially for improvement against FL and Bama, and not to look stupid against Oregon.

That being said, he'd get the same 2+ years I gave Dooley before I jumped ship, but the baseline expectation would be higher.

At 5+ mil a year I want instant results. Beat Oregon or pack it back to Florida with the rest of the Fired Football Coaches Association.

Compared to our current coach, 8-9 wins is instant results.

Dooley will have a 9 win season only once we start competing in the Sun Belt Conference.

Gruden does well with other coaches players.

Interesting. Are you saying the $1.8 mil a year we're paying Dooley makes his tenure to this point acceptable?

Surely with a SB ring and increased TV exposure and the "Chucky Face",
the highest paid FB coach in the SEC can beat a PAC 12 team, if we are to have any hope of competing in the SEC. If we are going all in on a contract I want all out performance.

I don't believe there is any team in the SEC, outside of perhaps Bama, that Oregon wouldn't beat the brakes off of if they played today.

But continue your baiting, trolling....whatever you want to call it, as long as you find it entertaining.

I'm not trolling, I'm serious. If I pay top dollar for a salesman, he $%# well better bring me top dollar results or he is leaving out the same door he came in. QUICKLY

Boy if this was a betting site, I'd be given 2-1 odds Gruden will not be coaching when Dooley leaves.
50-1 Fulmer will not be rehired. 25-1 Freak.:)
