Your hatred of Dooley and his quick hiring as National Signing Day approached is over the top, IMO.

Go Vols.

I don't hate Dooley. I hate the fact that he is the HFC at UT. There's a major difference that's worth noting.

UT fired a coach who won a national championship and did give his all for Tennessee (I know he didn't finish strong)--and that firing was based on his inability to do better than mediocrity in the SEC. Then the same AD hired a coach who couldn't achieve mediocrity in the WAC.

It was moronic and the program didn't deserve that.

That's not saying anything against Dooley as a person. He seems like a nice enough person. This is about his ability as a football coach, his qualifications for the job, and whether he deserves to keep the job. Nothing more. :hi:

Haven't been following the Gruden thread. What's with it? Besides the classic land in knoxville, ga here 20 years ago, and wife married a ut cheerleader, are there any other legitimate reasons to think it's really a possibility?

Or is it all coming from some hardcore wishful thinking? I'd be all over it myself, but I don't want to get my hopes up if there's no fire making all this smoke.

Lots of smoke. Hoping for a fire if we can't get things going this season with Dooley.

Funny how every respectable poster on here has heard positive things about Gruden, and the people that shoot it down really bring nothing to the board at all.

You are correct. Common sense and facts oftentimes mean very little on a board filled with angry people getting their information from other anonymous forum posters.
I can see where that would be construed as bringing nothing to the board.

People here did. Not "experts". That Florida game was a win to almost everyone here.

The Florida game was disastrous for Dooley, the way it played out with buildup, Gameday, electric home environment, et al. I just think that game took on more significance - especially with the way it was lost.
