Jon Gruden to Miami FL (merged)

You're talking about offenses. I'm talking talking about winning, seeing as that's the head coaches responsibility.

Then why did you quote my post about Leach's offense + Miami's athletes and say it was nothing special?

Too bad Leach isn't applying for the position of 'offensive coach.'

Not relevant.

I said Leach+Miami=nothing special, but once again, don't let reality get in the way.

The reality is that you quoted my comment on Leach's offense and Miami's athletes. If you are now saying you didn't understand my post when you quoted it then come out and say so.

Yeah. Who cares if a coach wins or not if at least part of his team is good?

Not relevant to this particular discussion. If you want to start a separate discussion about Leach's ability to win the ACC let me know.

The reality is you're ridiculously attempting to tell me what I was arguing.

Right. A coaches ability to win isn't relevant to whether or not his tenure is special.

So your response to my post about Leach's offense and Miami's athletes had nothing to do with Leach's offense and Miami's athletes? Then why did you quote it?

Right. A coaches ability to win isn't relevant to whether or not his tenure is special.

Do you want to start a separate discussion about Leach's ability to win the ACC?

and cane insiders are saying yes...

someone is wrong

What is the attraction with Gruden? His players hate him, the only offensive scheme he knows is too complicated to run productively at the college level and he's hasn't gone recruiting since Peyton Manning was in Junior High.

this sounds much more credible. there's a lot of nfl jobs he probably could have and better college ones.

He has a super bowl, but I suppose it's better to get a coach who has never even won a division out right.

But he's never won a conference championship or a national championship and in the Land of Pulling Arguments From Our Arses that's all that matters.

Don't you ever get tired of losing arguments to me?

I have no dog in this fight, and I like your avatar, but the fact he was civil, and you were a total jackass to him should get you banned.

So you'll take a guy who's proven he can't win anything in a decade over a guy who has proven he can win at a higher level? Gruden is a risk, and it may not turn out well, but it's certainly a better hire than Leach.

You mean like the argument in which you were talking up the WAC co-champion?

Leach and Miami would a be a great fit...if Miami wants to go 8-4/9-3 every year and never win the ACC title.

Another nice edit.

With the ACC as bad as it is, they may actually be able to win the conference some years, but I feel like Miami wants to get back to the glory days.
