haha i kno everyone hates the word rumor i just cant escape it down here cuz everyone is either a canes fan or uf fan...so i felt the need to let my fellow vols brothers kno

To answer your question; I would not care. Things tend to work out for a reason. If he suxs at Miami then it would not affect us. If he succeeds then it adds pressure on UF.

He will be bad at evaluating 5* recruits?

All hell have to do is call up the top kids and say "Hey, I've got a Super Bowl ring. Want to come spend the next 4 years on the beach with hot chicks?"

I see you buy in to the Chuckie myth. Thats okay we all did in TB for about two tears until we realised the truth. Jon Gruden is a fraud. The team hated him.

I think you're missing the point.

He'll be the only college head coach who won a Super Bowl as a head coach in the NFL. Add in recruiting to Miami and it's game over. 5* recruits will flock to Miami to play for a Super Bowl winner. What's to evaluate when the top players want to play for you? Even Isiah Thomas almost got 5* recruits at FIU and he accomplished nothing as an NBA coach.

Apples and oranges my friend. 5* Recruits want to compete for championships, Miami isn't winning one any time soon.

I don't care if Jimmy Johnson is coaching.

So why did Janzen Jackson come to play for old man river?

Why did Hunter and Da'Rick come to play for Baggett?

More so than winning, players want to go pro and get paid millions. If I'm 18 years old, I'd assume a head coach that won a Super Bowl knows what it takes to get me there.

Yup. And then Gruden walked in and did what Dungy failed to do over and over again by actually winning a Super Bowl.
Gruden is a fraud. You will see. He will fail miserably at the U. Players despise him. They don't trust him once they figure out he is a snakeoil salesman.

You can say what you want, but he didn't do too badly in Tampa.

Or in Oakland for that matter. He made the playoffs 5 times in 11 seasons. Jeff Fisher has made the playoffs 6 times in 17 seasons and everyone thinks he is the greatest.
