Jones Doesn't Rule out Paulk

The RB in OK beat the crap out of some drunk girl and served a one year suspension, so this seems appropriate. He could have Paulk walk-on for a year and then if he behaves put him back on scholly.

Sure they could. Butch does a lot of things right. Imo he works on just a few things and he would have my full support. I was happy to see he didn't do what a lot of fans were calling for and cut loose Bruce, Lovingood, Townsend, and others late because they didn't have enough *'s. I don't care for the whole blue shirt stuff, but can live with it for now. We'll see how those play out. Good job there, not so much with Ford.

See? Some works for me, some not so much. Hopefully Butch works on it. I'd like to see him NOT take commitments that he doesn't intend to honor. Pretty simple IMO.
So name one coach who does that

So name one coach who does that

Name one coach who honors the commitments of the guys he takes commitments from unless they are not doing the things they should be? I'd venture to guess there are a lot of them. As I don't follow other schools classes that closely, I can't name any and be certain. How can I assume it happens elsewhere? Other than Ford, Butch did it in 2015. Yes, coaches CAN do it the right way. Butch takes Ford and cuts loose a kid taking visits late and there ya go. Job well done.

I figured I would pick 1 school I suspected would fit easily into my thinking, Duke. As I figured, Cut runs a pretty tight ship there today. He signed 17 kids. Not a single one took a visit else where after committing to Duke. I searched to see if they had any decommits close to NSD and they did have 1WR flip to Northwestern. Not by Cut's choice, but the kid said just being close to home sealed it. I did find it interesting he said that when Duke offered, they only gave him 48hrs to decide and it was months before NSD.

You asked for an example. There's 1. I have no doubt there are others.

I am certainly qualified to pass judgment on this situation. I would also think twice about allowing my son to play for Jones if he allows him back.

That's good for you...some of you guys are going to grow up one day and realize that people make mistakes in real life. Everyone's life isn't confined to this perfect little box called the internet. Where you can be whatever you can type up. All you self righteous chumps are whats pathetic. This is an opportunity for a young man's life to be changed possibly for the better and all you can think about is turning your back on him. I have a son and i tell him all the time, don't do drugs, don't hit girls, don't be a bully, tespect other people and their stuff and so on and so on. But you know what? At the end of the day kids are going to go outside the house and start living real life and s@#t is going to happen. We all hope it doesn't but it will. As a parent though you have to be that to try to redirect them and get them back on track. You can't just throw them out like trash. Thats not not how life works! Go Vols!

That's one season. Butch himself has done that one season. You act as if Butch isn't doing something that routine and common in college football.

I was asked to provide an example. Literally the 1st one I checked fit. I'm sure there are many other examples. Butch, isn't one of them. Hopefully that's something he changes. If he wants to preach family, back it up. If he wants to be Saban/business/cutthroat like, just don't bother with all the coach speak BS. Just tell it like it is.

OR...keep doing it the way he's doing it because it's working?

Butch allows him back, and imo it's a very poor decision. Sends the wrong message. I can't imagine what the Lady Vol players who saw it think if he's allowed back. Lots of talk of "character" being important. I guess it's not as important if the RB depth chart needs another body. SMH
Your view doesn't surprise me. Typical upper middle class white man response. Nobody deserves a second chance, unless it's family.

If young Mr. Paulk were my son I would not advise him to return to UT. I would tell him a fresh start elsewhere would be best. That is if I hadn't already killed him for punching a woman in the face.

So
If I don't kill you, you should run away and hide from what you've done.

Smh

Nope. When someone does something really stupid, a fresh start elsewhere can be beneficial. Teammates, Lady Vol players, other people who witnessed what he did. Imo, a fresh start away from UT might be best after he has worked out all his issues.

Hide? Really? The kid is lucky he wasn't arrested and charged. If it wasn't for the girl not being very smart, he would be a lot worse off than worrying about where he's playing ball.

Paulk was accused of hitting a girl...AJ of brutally raping a girl...who's blurring what? And sometimes?

So now not only have you concluded that AJ is guilty but the story, in your mind, has devolved to including brutality?

Today's word, boys and girls...is ACCUSED. :geek:

I'll consider amending the possibly unfair BRUTAL with a friendlier GENTLE rape. :hi:

To be fair any rape committed against any women, man, yes man, or child is brutal to the individual being raped. So I see what Butchna is sayin.

How would that be any different than you already concluding that he is innocent and everyone is just out to get him?

And yeah, rape is a brutal act. You didn't know that?

It's nothing more than a fishing expedition at this point. The police did an investigation and they couldn't find anything worthy to file charges on. The police then sent everything they gathered to the DA who reviewed all the info and evidence and still couldn't find anything worthy of bringing charges. The other female witness who was IN THE ROOM at the time of the alleged rape pretty much said, "that girl is crazy", by just leaving town and going back home to FL and not giving it a second thought.

Nothing here to see folks.

So.. What if she was trying to rake his face off with her fingernails? Or maybe she was punching him in the face? We do not, and likely will not, know the entire set of circumstances. You have a right to defend yourself, woman or not. Maybe that's what happened... Maybe she was going off on his face and he punched her back. You aren't qualified to pass judgement because you dont know. Violence against the opposite sex goes both ways regardless of anyone's ideas of chivalry. I don't want our players punching anyone - male or female - for no reason, but there are reasons that warrant defending yourself. And just maybe that's what he was doing.

Really? This is what we've devolved to? Even in your make believe scenario, a division 1 football player can't subdue a female or defend himself against her without punching her in the face? Really?

You guys are unreal. I don't give one single F if he is the best player in the nation, he shouldn't be playing for Tennessee if he punched a girl in the mouth. Rationalize how it's okay all you want but if it were your sister, mother, daughter or wife and a 200 lb man struck her in the face I doubt you would be making excuses like a bunch of spineless, nuttless, classless cowards. Dear lord someone pass me the Tylenol.

No way I'd take him back. No sympathy for pansies that hit females. My experience is that most of these guys would wet themselves if they had to fight a dude.

Umm, yeah...you do realize that he is a major college football player, right? You seriously think he's going to cower in fear because some random guy wanted to fight? Everyone's a bada** on the internet, lol.

Personally, I believe in second chances, and I don't feel that a young man's career, life, etc. is over when he makes one mistake. This is America, our values and beliefs are supposed to be more forgiving than that.

Actually he's not a major CFB player. He was until he punched a teenage girl in the face. Maybe you're right, maybe he's gender neutral in his violent outbursts. I anxiously await his MMA debut-- men's division.

She could be the next ronda rousey. My point is: you don't know. You have absolutely no idea what happened. Maybe he missed trying to grab her arms to subdue her and hit her in the face. My point is that you don't know the facts, haven't seen the video, and haven't got a copy of the police report. She could've had a pipe or a knife for all you know. Get off the high horse unless you were an actual witness, which you weren't.

I also imagine that if he had outright punched this helpless teenage girl in the face, she would've had much more than a cut on her lip as reported. I'd imagine broken bones and missing teeth. But he'll, as vicious as you make it out to be, maybe she'd be missing her entire upper body above the waist. Being just a weak little girl and all.
