We need in state recruits who who grew up loving te vols, and are willing to play their heart out for ut.

The sad part is the kids growing up today only know UT as being pretty bad. When I was growing up UT sucked, but I still followed them very closely....but there wasn't 24 hour sports where you can see just about any team you want. It was all UT, all the time.

CBJ has to recruit the best he can get that fill our NEEDS on the roster.

This kid has SPEED and we badly NEED all the speed we can recruit.

He plays QB, RB, WR, S and CB and he's a good kick and punt returner.

I think we NEED players at most of those positions.

There's a few areas where this kid CAN help us improve and that's always a good thing when you're totally rebuilding from scratch again.

His friend and teammate is coming to UT with him and i've heard he's a tough RB that can help our depth and we all know that CJG will make him lots better.

CBJ is working hard to try and rebuild instate relationships and get us kids to fill our NEEDS and we should all love that and support his efforts.

I like getting these 2 kids and all real Vols fans should too.

WELCOME young men to Vol Nation!!!

I look forward to seeing you both play wearing Tennessee Orange.

VFL...GBO!!!

I don't mind giving Malik a scholarship but he doesn't have an offer from Clemson or Va Tech. Not sure I would be complaining about people that didn't know what they were talking about.

And I don't think DB has the most wins in the state. Lots of incorrect info...

The cat didn't get out of the bag on Foreman until they moved him to QB the 5th game of regular season. Anyone that had seen him play knew he was special but for everyone else there wasn't those lofty stats that gets you news coverage. He was only touching the ball 5-7 times a game. They like to spread the wealth around at Dobyns Bennett. Foreman ran about 4 kickoffs back for td's early in the season but after that nobody would kick to him. Playing QB he had his hands on the ball every play and thats when he started running off those 200+ yrd. games and getting a lot of press from it. I think thats why most recruiters were late on coming to the table for Foreman. Vandy had a scout at a DB game and they offered him on the spot. Swafford is even more under the radar. If he had 20 carries a game like a lot of high school running backs he would of reeled out a bunch of 200+ yrd. games also. Not the biggest or the fastest but makes up for it with unbelievable moves. He is a better receiver than a running back and I believe that's where UT will have him. Swafford was voted most valuable player on defense in the East-West All Star game this year. A added plus for both players is that they are both "TOP SHELF" in the game of life. No saggy pants and tats, yes sir, no sir type guys. You could trust them with your daughter on a date.

Do you know what the difference between a 3* vs. a 4* vs. a 5* is? Someone's opinion and we know those are like #$%^holes everyone has one. Typically the star rating comes because of who is recruiting them. I'll take the coaching staff's talent analysis over Rivals.com or Tom Lemming's opinion any day.

This kid has 4.37 speed and can play anywhere! Nice job JG and CBJ!

:eek:k:

tennesseeduke

i usually go by offer list. seen alot of players that run a 4.4 suck in college. he could be one of those diamond in the rough types, but it also appears that is what jones is going after. to me this is the reason i was not excited by jones being hired. 3 star recruits and probably alot of losses coming the next coming years. it is the reason i believe we needed that huge name to put us back on the map. never can tell look at kiffin and that sucked, but jones should have went out and got great recruiters instead of his cincy buddies.

This is a great pickup! Can we cut out the negavol talk? CBJ, like kiffen and dooley, said we need to own our state and he is actually doing something about it. Forget the stars, this is about putting James Stanklin and vandy in their place and let's not act like we don't desperately need the speed. Its also hard to sell a program to an out of state recruit when you can't seal the deal inside your own borders. I'm not ready to crown him, as Dennis Green would say, but let's at least give a golf clap. Go Vols!!!!!!

Stanklin. That is funny. Anyway, these guys may or may not play next year. The Strength and Conditioning Coach will get more muscle on them by the time they play. Glad to see these two players snatched away from ......Stanklin. GBO

Actually DB does have the most wins in the state. :eek:lol:

Thought it may be St. George. They have to be up there. Will not be the last time I am wrong.
They have been around a while but have not been significant since 1960. I'm not that old :eek:lol:

As a VOLUNTEER High School alum, and avowed hater of Dobyns-Bennett, I won't give them any credit where it is not due. I looked it up and DB is the winningest High School team in Tennessee and ranks around the top 25 in the nation. The only other Tennessee team to make the top 50 is Montgomery Bell at 48. These rankings were from 1/1/12, so they may have shifted a little after this past season.

Dang it.

Candy will always be Candy.

They'll beat us once every 15 or 20 years, like Kensucky.

Heh....Volunteer High.

Like ol' Church Hill, but with a cooler name.

Hope this is true but am I the only one that questions this source? The article has a couple of questionable grammatical choices and doesn't say anything that this kid's recruiting forum thread didn't already say. No quotes from Foreman, etc. Not saying it's not true. I'll just feel better when it is confirmed.

Tony Basilio's blog entry for Monday (The Tony Basilio Show) provides a detailed analysis of Malik's recruitment. Citing a "Dr. Sinclair," he said that, if Malik was playing in Texas, Georgia, or Florida, he would, without a doubt, be rated as a four-star prospect. Basilio is quite impressed with the job Butch Jones has done thus far in recruiting.

I don't follow recruiting at all because the 3, 4, and 5 star rankings are meaningless and I have better things to do. That being said, can anyone tell me if any other schools had offered this kid or was vandy his only offer.

Being only a 7 poster, and not expecting any respect until I at least reach 100 (understandably). All I can offer is this.. I've watched both Swafford and Foreman since they were in middle school, both are awesome athletes in many positions on the field. They both come from good family, both good students and just like me, both love UT.
