Jones flips Foreman from Vandy to Vols!!!

CBJ is working on exactly what he said he would by going after the best talent TN has. I for one am very happy that he is at least building the bridges back to the local coaches and talent. If he is very successful our class next year will be top ten led by TN talent and that will

It's not like there is any validity to the argument.

All the top programs battle it out with vandy for recruits

:lolabove::loco::lolabove:

I was thinking the same thing. Hell must have frozen over because I never would have thought there would be such celebrating over a UT beating Vandy over a recruit.

More recently

Janzen Jackson
Cordarelle Patterson
Bryce Brown
Da'Rick Rogers

All of these guys could play, even if Brown basically skipped college and now plays for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bryce Brown... I've seen better hands on a clock

When ur at the bottom u gotta start somewhere ..

But UT is a top 10 all-time program, with a 100,000 seat stadium, and great facilities. How could UT ever be in a battle with lowly Vandy?

I'm just messing with you. There are tons of posters on here that put Vandy down at every chance...because they're Vandy but reach for the lotion when a recruit changes his mind. Go figure.

Reaching for a Vandy girl is just as easy. After we take there recruit. Ohhh. :)

Just joking before yall try to burn me.

Exactly! Everybody is reaching for the lotion over nothing..gonna need salve to heal when we actually get some good ones and start winning again..

Still butthurt from the other thread? Don't blame you, if I were made to look foolish I would play it off as if I was to 'kool for school' as well.

So, since you turned up, what is UT's all-time winning percentage? Still waiting....

For All The Star Counters....I've seen this Kid PLAY.....This Is A Good Get......Don't be a Negavol......

You know the term "negavol" is way overused. It's ok to have a critical opinion ..it would be different if we were good and everyone still complained.

Have any naysayers looked at the Rival rankings?

Vandy currently has a top 15 class not by quality, rather by quantity.
They have 21 recruits and that boosts their rating in the top 15.
all but one or two of their recruits are 3* s or less.

The reason we are ranked low is because we currently only have 15 recruits most of which are ranked higher than Vandy's recruits.

We still have a month of recruiting to go. Give the coach some time. :loco:

CBJ said he wanted to fence in the state and keep our in state talent here. Part of that is rebuilding relationships with local coaches, getting kids to reconsider/flip to UT and reaching out to the 2014 class. So far I`d say he`s 3 for 3.

The question is how much of our in state talent do we really want?

I agree... that would come up to about 3-4 a year

I think we could find 3-4 5* or 4*'s and anytime there is similar talent in the 2-3* range we need for role players pick homegrown first. I think that is his goal.

Nobody is saying this is a huge deal. Winning in state recruiting isn't much of a prize in the state of Tennessee. But the the fact is, the last coach had begun to lose some of those battles and the new guy is apparently reversing that trend.

so we would rather take this guy than other bigger named recruits. i guess i'm confused. if he wants to close the state of tennessee he better work on nashville and memphis.

All I'm saying is that I think it looks stupid for people to bang on a commit because he's .2 away from being a 4 star when all you are going on is his offer list and some YouTube videos.

Do you know what the difference between a 3* vs. a 4* vs. a 5* is? Someone's opinion and we know those are like #$%^holes everyone has one. Typically the star rating comes because of who is recruiting them. I'll take the coaching staff's talent analysis over Rivals.com or Tom Lemming's opinion any day.

This kid has 4.37 speed and can play anywhere! Nice job JG and CBJ!
