Jones is staying!!!!!!

It doesnt matter, Jones wont get into UT. He dropped out of Prep school.

I always appreciate what JMoore brings to the table, and obviously many are saying the same thing. However, there is something nobody has really mentioned: Why did CCM make Jones such a high priority if he didn't think he would get in? I think our coaching staff must know something we don't or has much better feelings about him being elgible; or, surely they wouldn't have made him top priority.

Thoughts?

Oh wait.... he's sticking with Tennessee...?

um i mean he's going to be an impact player, worth 7-8 wins atleast.... Why isnt he a 5 star, espn at it again!!

Chris Jones>>>>Kemba Walker you'll see!!

lol at some fans....

I’m not sure why my thread was merged.... it had NOTHING to do with Jones staying... It obviously it was about fans overreaction to him possibly leaving and equally crazy overreactions to when they find out he's staying….

Also, if you’re going to merge something, how about a reason for the merge? Ridiculous…

Soooooooooo..............

Odds of him actually qualifying are? 50%? 40%?

From all I've heard it'll be close to a Ramar Smith miracle if he's wearing orange next year.

Nowhere near a Ramar situation. His core grades are not in horrible shape. His ACT score increase is attainable. Would not be miracle. His qualifying status is being overblown.

Umm... Jmoore, I usually trust your opinion and info and I have a lot of respect for you... That said, he didn't "drop out" of prep school. He had an altercation with a teacher at Oak Ridge MA, then after a brief stint at another prep school to finish the fall semester, he transferred back to his old HS in Memphis. He was ineligible to play HS ball in TN due to TSSAA rules on age restrictions which was the reason he went to prep school anyway. He has never had "grade issues" it was only so he could play ball and get better prepared to take the ACT again.

I don't foresee his entrance to UT being in question. All he has to do is get 1 more correct answer on his ACT and still has time to take it 2-3 more times if needed.

Go Vols!!!

Thanks! I love that name.

And during the last question he posted up against the railing to watch one of the TVs.. one of the guys at our table dared me to go punch him.

I didn't for fear he would stomp on my head. I'm kidding, I like him.

My trivia team name choice is "define statutory". Solid name that brings laughs and pissed off looks.

I don't believe that's how it works.

VolThis...

Off topic, For what it is worth, the answer to that bonus was researched incorrectly. IF this year's playoff scenario were included, the answer woud have been Spurs, Mavs, akers, Nuggets, and Magic (like the trivia guys said). He said it did not incude this year, therefore the Cavaliers should have been an answer. They have been for 5 years straight...until this year of course. I happened upon that question tonight as well

Now back to Chris Jones

We had the Cavs as one of our answers! Oh well. It's over and done. We just enjoy the break from school.

And to go even more off topic, I didn't like this guy as much as Brennan.

Saw in the article that Pearl had offered Philip Jurick a scholly. Never heard of a player leaving a school to play for a smaller school, and then returning to initial University that he signed with. Seems odd.

It was a Junior College so it was not that crazy. Its not like he transfered to another 4 year college and then was going to come back. I am just glad he has decided to move on somewhere else. The insane part about that article was the offers he has now coming out of junior college. How in the world does he have that many offers? He is....not very good...to say it politely.

Look at our lack of depth going into next season inside! With our half-court style of play, he may not have been a bad fit and could've helped defensively. The guy has zero offensive game and was a bit slow on his feet to be nice, but he was a damn good shot blocker and rebounder in our practices and especially in HS. He averaged 6 blocks a game in HS and 15+ rebounds/game IIRC. He is Aaron Gray without any offensive skill. His FT's look like laser beams at the front of the rim. NASA mistakenly landed a rover on his fivehead while trying to explore moon craters... the rover was never seen or heard from again...

i am glad jones is staying and i wish he was in good shape as far as making it in with his grades but i dont expect him to be playing next season ,and i hope coach can get another pg that can play next year and i hope he can get some shooters, cause not having shooters killed the vols last year.and tobias likes coach martin theb he should stay another year because they will probally be a lockout in the nba
