Someone close to the program told me today expectation is she's done for the rest of the year.

that is my expectation, too, just from hearing the descriptions of what happened, which I didn't see because I turned it off after the third quarter

This injury gives someone on the roster a chance to step up and become the Lady Volunteers version of Jonas Aidoo.

Burrell needs to step her game up a notch.

Good luck to Horston in her rehabilitation efforts.

That's true but adapting to not having Jordan is going to be a more challenging transformation than coping with Rae's injury. Jordan is the Swiss army knife player who could move between point guard, shooting guard, hit the boards, defend the perimeter, and she handled full court the best of any our guards. Plus, she was also the player who most often created in the half court offense.

So, the PG role is now squarely on the shoulders of Walker and Miles. Rae can fill some of the gaps but not that one. Kaiya Wynn is going to have step up in way that surprises people as the perimeter defender and someone who helps break pressure. We have seen signs she can do the former but no so much the latter.

It will be interesting to see how it goes. I think the LVs will be able to find a new balance and might be able to still make the Sweet 16. But, having SC as their next game is pretty much the worst case scenario. LSU will be the better test of whether or not they can adapt to losing another major piece (this time their biggest one).

Being evaluated by ortho specialists today. Someone close to the program told me today expectation is she's done for the rest of the year.
Yep. I heard it was a fractured elbow and then an MRI was scheduled for yesterday. When I heard they had to pop it back in to socket, I figured it wasnā€™t good.

Figured to start a thread, separately on Jordan Horstonā€™s injury status. Coach Kellie honestly looked distraught, defeated, and appeared like she couldā€™ve cried in the postgame interview. She said she doesnā€™t know the extent of whatā€™s going on at this time, but that Jordan was taken to the hospital for X-rays.
Yeah. She looked spent.

I believe the biggest impact will be on the boards. Jordan was going after and getting those rebounds.

I certainly can relate to what your team and fans are feeling. Hearing her scream, I knew it wasn't good. It makes me cringe, actually. I hope she recovers quickly, and comes back hungry. Prayers for the team, their families, and TN fans. This injury is just heartbreaking.

Feeling gutted by Jordan's injury. When it happened, the camera provided (unfortunately) a clear view of the moment of injury and its aftermath. The only silver lining is that the injury is on her non-dominant arm so at least she is not going to have relearn her shooting motion and all the rest that would come to an injury impacting her dominant hand. Injuries are always terrible, never come at a good time but Jordan had been playing so well it is really hard to see her season ended like this.

But, comeback stories are great too. Looking forward to seeing you back on the court, in all your resplendent glory, Jordan.
Iā€™m feeling the exact same way. Iā€™m completely gutted. Itā€™s going to be hard watching the rest of the season. I feel bad for this team.

I've seen some amazing things happen in sports and this could go either way. I've seen players step up and play amazing and seem team totally crash and close down. I'm looking for players to step up and play amazing at least in the two final home games. I have no idea how we will come out Sunday completely out talented and playing on their home court. That is a lot to overcome.

I'm heartbroken for Jordan and her team. Without our do-it-all dynamo the rest of the season is looking pretty grim.

Even though there's a high probability it could get ugly, we can't abandon them now, when they really need our support most. From here on out it, it's OUR time to step up.
