Who wouldn't?

Your giving Donovan too much credit, he hit the jackpot with that group of kids, won't happen again, he can't even make the tourney in the SEC, that is pretty pathetic considering were only good for about 5 teams to make it year in and year out.
If you think I give Donovan too much credit, you've obviously never read anything I've posted about him.

Then you must disregard the plethora of posters who act as if reaching the Sweet 16 makes Pearl a candidate for immediate induction in Springfield and Kansas City.

All fan bases have overzealous fans who aren't very realistic, or "intelligent" about their faith in their team. So, yes, I disregard them.

Pearl has quite a few bad seasons allotted him before he is gone, or a couple of great seasons. *****ing about his followers is pointless

I'll take two National Championships and two NIT trips over four nondescript NCAA appearances every time.

How many consecutive NIT trips will it take to trump those past national championships in the Florida fan's eyes though? I'm just curious. What has happened to Florida since those championships? Is it Donovan, the players, or both? What is your take.

How so? Lose one of the games this week, then couple that with the two beatings they are going to suffer the next and you've got a recipe for a finish that gets Tennessee a seed in the 7-9 range. That makes a March run next to impossible. Is that simple enough or do I need to dumb it down some more for you?

I just thought it was interesting that you were basing all of the "overall wearers" for being encouraged about regular season wins and stating that the tourney is all that counts. Then, in your next post, you go on to talk about how important two regular season games are. So you're admitting that the regular season does have some significance?

This should be interesting.

Only as a means to an end.

If you could have coach here at UT, who would it be? Realistically speaking.
Depends on when you're hiring one. Tennessee has managed to miss on Tim Floyd, Bill Self, and Jay Wright, among others, in the last 20 years. If Bruce Pearl left to go coach at Oregon when this season ends, I can think of 15 guys rather quickly that I'd be content seeing on UT's sidelines.

I don't disagree, but I also think fans should be able to enjoy the ride without being touted as uneducated b-ball viewers.
I don't have any problem with enjoying regular season wins. I enjoyed the Kansas game immensely. I do, however, have a problem with people talking about rankings and wins in January as means of deflecting attention from Pearl's so so performance in postseason play.

Tim Floyd turned out AWESOME for USC CHEATER!!! AS FOR THE OTHER 15 WHOEVER THEY ARE. i AM SURE THEY WOULD HAVE MORE INTERESTED IN THIS JOB BECAUSE OF WHAT bRUCE LAID OUT!

Good to see you have absolutely no grasp of the facts in that situation.
Coaches want all the credit but they get all the blame as part of the job too. You know that. Floyd should have done whatever possible once Mayo deal was whispered. he should have suspended him indefinitely!

Hat, I have seen on here several times where you have stated that you just got off the phone with this coach or that coach. I was just curious what you do that gives you that kind of access?

it's about getting better, so that in march you can compete. not about just cruising through league play

How do you suspend someone long after they've left your campus?

For lack of a better explanation, I'll use one of my favorite quotes. "I am but a humble man, but I have many important friends."

i said whispers. he heard what happened and tried to sweep under rug and came back and got him. he gambled he lost!
You mean like Bruce Pearl disregarding the red flags that should have appeared when Calhoun, Floyd, and Sampson wouldn't touch Ramar Smith?
