LSU players hire lawyer, put off talking to police

"They weren't asked to turn themselves in. They were asked to come in so they can be interviewed and tell their side of the story,"

Guilty.

They don't want to incriminate themselves so they hired lawyers.

The police report was just released. It said that Jefferson threw the first punch, but his feet weren't set and it sailed over the guy's head.

Is it just me, or the authorities moving very slowly on this? Looks like they are waiting on someone from the university to make the first move due to possible LSU success.

Also indicated that there were too many victims on the scene so Jefferson was given another shot to throw the punch even though the fight had been declared over. On the 2nd attempt he connected the punch and won the fight

Clay Travis' site "OKTC" is reporting that a Marine who had just returned from training was one of the guys who took a beating, apparently Jefferson kicked him in the head while he was down.

Fights happen but kicking someone when they are defenseless on the ground is completely uncalled for! Hope he gets kicked off the team for that kind of stuff.

However, that marine coming back from basic might have started something trying to show off his new moves. But that is pure speculation.

From most reports the marine came in to help a guy that was down.

I see. Its good to see him trying to help out. This will hurt Jefferson's ability to play the sympathy card... Thanks for the info. :hi:

I don't care for Jefferson, never have, so I actually think the QB position will be better off.

We'll see. Right now the only player implicated in this that was going to see any real action was Jefferson. If it goes beyond the 4 players being looked at, then the situation could change.

Either way, very distracting with the Ducks on deck.

Does UT have one particular attorney that handles player arrests?

I think they do. I remember reading an article last year about a lawyer that UT hired after the Bar Knox incident. I cant remember his name though. He obviously worked out good for UT since nobody ended up in trouble.
