Jordan McRae and the NBA draft

Look at Meghan Simmons on the woman's side. She has a very bad shooting technique--and it is probably one reason why she is not a good shooter, though she shoots it a ton. I would have been very tempted to teach her the proper motion/technique as a freshman--but by college it is late.

You don't score 2000+ at the most elite school for your sport by not being a good shooter when you are a shooting guard.

I think he was talking about her technique, but let's be honest, she's a career 41% shooter, and 34% from 3. That hardly qualifies her as a good shooter. She is, however, a great scorer. There is a difference.

Maybe he grows into those size 20's.

He wouldn't really have to, he's pretty strong now. Guys bounce off him. He's height challenged for a 4 in the NBA but he's plenty big enough. And with the way you cant even touch anybody in the NBA now, it would be interesting to see.

Stokes needs one of two things that he simply won't have come draft time; 3 more inches in height, or a consistent 18'+ jumper. This is what will keep him from being a 1st rounder, let alone a lottery pick.

They've been a legit playoff team the last 6-7 years.

Have a great coach now and will have tons of cap space. The future is bright in the A.

The problem with the Hawks in the playoffs has always been they resemble the UT Vols in the SECT. They've gotten in as 4-5-6, etc but they lose. They do finally have a coach and front office though, or at least that's what I'm hoping.

He is height challenged at his position but he could better his draft status coming back. May not be lotto but could be solid 1st.

This. His elbow is a lost cause BUT he can still shoot and that's what really matters. You dont have to have perfect form to play in the NBA. Shawn Marion, Joakim Noah come to mind right off the top of my head. As long as it goes in.

Form isn't a concern unless, like you say, the shots don't go in. Alex English shot the ball above his head which I'd think is all wrist. I don't know, I cant do it. Noah has some sort of push release like a HS girl instead of a fluid elbow/forearm action. Marc Gasol, Kevin Martin. But if they go in, who cares.

Honestly KD is listed at 240. He's plenty hbig now and had a wiry frame in college. He's just got a lanky build.

Jordy as Jamal Crawford or JR Smith are just not fair comparisons IMO. I see him as a Kevin Martin type player. In the right organization he could be a legit scoring option or a great role player. I see similar builds and abilities.

Martin is a good comparison, decent shot, ok handle, similar build. I don't think people realize the skill set Jamal Crawford has.

I think I pulled it up just by clicking his name in the roster. But, whatever, lets go on what we have here. So 6-6 185 is a 3 in the NBA?

You said he was too short, I'm simply saying 6'6" isn't too short for a 3 in the NBA, especially when your wingspan is 7'2"

I think Martin is a decent comparison. Maybe a player like Brandon Jennings is a decent comparison as well.

Wait what?

As his ceilings in terms of the type of player he could be. Streaky volume shooter and scorer with lean build and mediocre defense and handle. Idk, is this a bad comparison? Haven't watched Jennings really at all since his rookie year.

Wow Brandon Jennings lol? Jamal Crawford has handles, so don't see that either. Kevin Martin is spot on. A scorer that has an awkward shot, Jordy Mac is both of those.

Jennings has a really really good handle, the height difference and thought of Jordy being a PG threw me off. Lol Just 2 different types of players.
