Jordan McRae goes for 64 in Thurs RTL!

Plenty of people said that prior to last year, but I didn't see it happening, and it didn't.

Head cases tend to stay head cases. That's my concern. Has lots of talent and seems like a decent kid, but his head may always be in his way.

I'm right with ya. This kid has been Scotty Hopson-lite thus far, and had he been a top-10 player coming out of HS, he would have received a healthier dose of criticism from fans, similar to that of Hop.

Nice to see him score so much but I get more excited hearing CCM's comments about him doing better than any amount of points he scores in the RTL. I'm pretty sure I could get at least 20 ;)

Real tight D in RTL.

Tatum was the leading scorer in the RTL last year if that tells you anything. That style of play is so far from what they will see in SEC play, it doesn't translate.

In organized ball it is all how you can play while heavily guarded. Lofton has a fraction of McRae's athleticism yet he shined when people were D up all over him.

I scored 30 in the bluff city league in Memphis in the late 80's and had no D1 offers. Points in these leagues mean nothing.

You could say that for a lot of players. The dudes got length, gets to the rim pretty well, and has shown flashes of range and shooting ability. He's got the potential to be one of the best scorers for the team next year. I don't understand your criticism of him.

I agree with most of this. He is a scorer but not a shooter. That's my point. He has to change his shooting percentage to be high scorer in the SEC. I never said he couldnt score. I said he can't shoot! There is a difference. Great players do both. McRae with a jumper is a scary player.

I did the same thing !! Then my little brother took over the xbox to play guitar hero

I wasn't bragging about it. I was saying on any night a shooter can get hot. Doing it in what is essentially a pick up league of current and former players is nothing to be proud of. Because if an in athletic, non d1 athlete like me can score 65 and have better shooting percentage in a pick up game, then hearing him score 60 in a crappy summer league where no defense is played should not be a shocker to people.

I would wager that the defense played in RTL is 10 times more intense than whatever you pickup game you played.

You would be highly surprised how seriously former graduates of "good" high school teams take pick up games, especially with crowds bigger than some of those games to watch. Somethign about "reliving the glory days," double for those guys who weren't even smart enough to get into college.

Fair enough, but I wish people would stop saying there's no defense. Because there definitely is.

Seems like there's a difference in opinion between the people that actually go there and those that don't.

Not if but when this kid drops 30 against an sec opponent then we can say I told you he was a baller. Until then , he's just "potential"

Sounds good. Im not a fan of Kobes selfishness. One reason I have liked LeBron a ton more than him. I hope Jordan learns the essentials of team ball. A few times last season I felt he trusted his athleticism too much going inside and would get a crazy uncontrolled charge called on him.

I don't think Kobe is that selfish.....his role is to be the dominant lead scorer on his team....he has avg close to five assists per game for his career which is pretty good.

Have you been this year? Not saying its lock down SEC D, but it's much improved compared to previous years.

No it's not.

Then either you haven't gone previous years or haven't been to more than one this year. The D on a enrage is better its not even a debate. I'm not saying its great D, or even good, but it's BETTER than previous years.
