Josh Dobbs about to have the Opportunity of his NFL Career

He was better than their second option. Brought in to replace the backup who they had no confidence in

No doubt. I definitely am not putting the loss on Dobbs, not by a long shot. Just think he had his share of missteps, some caused by himself but mostly due to the O-line and some really questionable playcalling.

You guys saying they weren’t giving him protection must not watch a lot of NFL. Your not getting 5 seconds in the pocket to throw against any team. Watch the good qbs and count. That ball is coming out in 2-3 seconds most plays.

DUI Todd Downing calling a run to Henry every first down doesn’t help. Incredibly predictable. Dobbs had a solid game. The int was because his arm got hit and it was under thrown, otherwise Burks is probably gone on that play.

Since when is the QB arm going forward with the ball in his hand before release called a fumble? Only when they want Jax to win I guess.

Dobbs' hand was moving forward and it was an incomplete pass. The officials got caught up in the crowd hysteria and made a horrible call.

If you think running the clock out of a game or playing in a preseason game is the same as the level tonite, you’re the dumbest MFer to ever post on here. Congratulations
I like you too man.

He probably had a better OL in that "mop up" time lol

Since the ball was coming out of his hand. It was a fumble.
I guess you are not very familiar with football. The ball always comes out of the QB's hand when they are passing, that is the purpose of a pass to throw it to someone. If it comes out of his hand before the hand is moving forward it is not a pass but a fumble, however in this case, the replay showed it was in his hand for about a foot before coming out of his hand, therefore forward pass.

Even Patrick Mahomes looked terrible in that Super Bowl against the Bucs when he had no protection. So these circumstances weren't exactly the best for evaluating Dobbs. His o-line couldn't protect him and he faced constant pressure all night. His two turnovers were because of pressure. And that last play where he didn't throw it past the sticks was also because of pressure.

With that said, outside of a couple of poor throws he did what he needed to do to keep his team in the game. Now it's all about building on this experience. Hopefully the Titans keep him around.

That's what I saw. It's not at all evident the ball was loose before the hand was moving forward. The strong forward motion of the ball after it came out indicates his hand was already moving the ball forward when it was dislodged.

This is Dobbs 3rd team and he is making millions of dollars while keeping his body healthy as a 2nd and 3rd string Qb. Best living their is in the NFL. Good for him. Always liked Dobbs .

How did the ball move forward at all if had not left his hand??? It was a bad bad call IMO.

I’m familiar with football; so much that I know they reviewed it and confirmed the call on the field.

So unless you can provide some credentials that overrides the people paid for it, other than your conspiracy theory rigged BS, then kindly ride off on the high horse you rode in on.

If a titan receiver had caught the ball would it have been a completion. I think yes

No it wouldn’t have; if a ball it knocked out a player’s hands and another players catches before it hits the ground, it’s still considered a fumble and a recovery.

I could see the call going either way. He appeared to have lost his grip but still had enough control to toss it forward, so, to me, it's an incomplete pass. I don't see any way they would have called it a forward fumble if a receiver had snagged it; the fact that it hit the ground shouldn't change that.
And, Josh played well given the mediocrity that is the Titans receiving corps.

Uh, have you every in your life seen such a rapid review of a play? Especially such a consequential one as that which essentially determines a division winner? It seemed to me a "disingenuous" review to me. They "confirmed" that play in seconds. His hand was controlling the ball as it moved forward, despite the strike on his forearm by the rusher......therefore, it has to be an incomplete forward pass. The fact that the ball flew in its intended direction and fell upfield displays that the qb had control thru most of the transition time. If its even close, it almost always goes to the qb it seems to me, but this was not that terribly close to me in my eye.
