Josh Dobbs is about to make a scene with the Browns.

Hopefully he will get another chance somewhere. I know I’ve got orange colored glasses, but he seems like he would be a solid backup at least. The Saints have had good luck with former Vols, maybe they will sign him and he can get back with Kamara and Callaway.

Better than Winston.

That is very true. If you can't beat out Brissett, then it is time to reconsider NASA.
Dobbs was known for being a crappy practice player, but balled out during the games. He’s looked good in the little action he’s seen in the NFL. I’d say let him start one game and see how he does

I thought if you were in the NFL for 5y you qualify for a pension that is significant. Anyone know the details and if Josh qualifies yet?
3 years to get a pension. Every year you play are more credits toward the pension plan.

They also have a 401k plan and an annuity stream they can access as early as 35 years of age.

To date I think he's earned around $5 mil for his career.

I think he could win the TItans a couple of games in a pinch. But, his lack of size hurts his chances of making it thru a 17 game regular season. Not all, but most NFL quarterbacks are big men.

When not in preseason or mop up at the end of a regular season game?

He was a disaster in a regular season game with the Steelers against the raiders when he had to come in.

For a running quarterback in NFL (I think Josh would need to run some), I think 216 is a bit light.

For example, Steve McNair was like 6'2" 230-235 pounds with huge hands.
There really aren't that many QB's bigger

Do you remember him running over SEC LB's?

His ability to stay healthy definitely isn't the issue. He just isn't a great passer.

But would he be the second best QB on the Titans roster right now? Hell yeah.

I'm sure he'll probably get signed to their practice squad. This was always the plan.
Watson will be a huge question mark for some time to come and keeping Dobbs around is just a good business decision.

....

Yeah, that Drew Brees was a beast. Gym rat on roids...

And Dobbs with his Skinny legs and pot belly wouldn't dare to run on SEC defenses while at UT.

SEC defenses are a bunch of kids. NFL defenses are grown azz men.

Drew Brees is in the "not all" category. And, he was smart enough to just throw the rock. Not a runner.

216 on the light side...all I'm saying.

Dobbs has a lifetime retirement from the NFL, without having to permanently damage is body. No one ever said he was a dummy, and I am happy for him no matter what else happens.

I agree!!!

Buuutttt, if Josh wants to drink a bunch of milkshakes to get that frame up to about 250 pounds, he could do this.

The guy who replaced him, Watson, is listed at 215.

I don't know what Hurts weighs but he and Mahomes aren't that big.

I'll grant you Lamar Jackson and Russell Wilson are probably like trying to tackle a cape buffalo.
