Given the talent disparity, I think the record is what it is. We have to recruit and get lucky when we play on the road. There’s no grand conspiracy against UT. Bitching about this does nothing. Just recruit and develop and play penalty free on the road. That’s what it takes.
If you've followed SEC football for any amount of time, you'd know that to beat the top teams like Bama and Georgia---the window is a very small one. The best opportunity to beat them is when they start a rookie QB just like Saturday. Both Florida and Bama started off the season with a new QB, but still managed to beat a Tn team who had a seasoned QB with past game experience in the SEC. Next year we will be playing with a rookie qb--how do you think our chances play out for the next 3 years to be the top tiered teams ? The frustration is because we were clearly the better team yesterday and just gave the game away due to poor play calling and yes, the ref's that we know lean BamaAnd all because we lost a lead to the best coach in the history of college football, who has a loaded roster, playing at home, in a revenge game.
You describe a criminally rigged game and then drop and flee the loaded word "conspiracy." Sack up. The Alabama HQ of the SEC rigged the game by means of officiating, and they do this sh-t regularly. But this game was perhaps the most blatantly rigged game in the history of football.I agree there is no conspiracy agaisnt Tennessee.
However, the amount of money it means for the SEC to get a team in the CFP, and Bama had an easier psth than UT...well, you get a game where Bama gets flagged for 1 penalty. If you wanna believe it want intentionally called that way, you sre free to do so.
But you'd be wrong.
There were numerous people in the media saying it would take him 5 years just to make a bowl. He made a major bowl and won it in 2.Heupel has done leaps and bounds better than anyone expected and we are far ahead of schedule on the program rebuild. The fact that some of our fans can’t acknowledge this is sad…
This rebuild started the day Pruitt was fired. Constant rebuilds are a result of hiring guys like Kiffin, Dooley, Jones & Pruitt. I hate that I have to explain that to you. Kiffin isn’t loyal to anything but himself & the other 3 are not head coaches at a major program. This is the first season under Heupel Tennessee has played with over 80 scholarships not counting Covid seniors. The roster has almost a complete class void of HS recruits still with the program (‘21 class). If Heupel had 85 scholarships in his first 2 seasons & no NCAA investigation going on, the roster might look different but he had 75 & other schools were telling major recruits a 2 yr bowl ban was likely. How many consecutive rebuilds do we have to go through? I’m getting old and have run out of patience. Seems like most have given up and are assuming we’re not supposed to be a great program. I guess I’m in the minority in that I think our standards should be higher. I have pride in my university and expect nothing but the best. You think Neyland would be happy that todays fanbase thinks that we are no better than a mid level SEC team?
The team was excellently prepared for the game & played its best football of the year in the first half. They didn’t respond well in the second half when Alabama stepped up their intensity & physicality. The offense is hampered due to the lack of explosive athletes on the perimeter. Bama took White away & the other WRs could not beat their man. Only offense in the 2nd half was Joe’s running.I was going to come and post something similar. The people jumping on the “CJH ain’t gonna cut it” bandwagon must have forgotten what it was like prior to him.
