Then we’ll need to know how many of the teams they played had opt outs, how many, and who they were?Yeah . . . if you even slightly look into the details of Central Florida's season, it's not as if there was a mystifying regression. He had a bunch of opt outs and 3 one score losses where they led in the 4th quarter including against Cincinnati.
Tennessee search for new football coach will cost 120000,expensesThe search firm isn’t being used for finding a coach
Except after they fired Heupel, the Oklahoma offense took off.
He inherited a stacked program at UCF, because the numbers say so. His program and roster were better than everyone else in the conference and most by a long shot.
Not only hasn't he built a program, he has failed to maintain the program he inherited.

Strength of schedule matters when evaluating records. His record has declined in each of his 3 years and this past year, you tout his loss to a “very good Tulsa team” lol, yet this strength of schedule is pretty close to the same as the u defeated season frost has. So even the schedule can’t refute that UCF has regressed under his leadership
You seriously can’t be comparing Josh Heupel’s record to Matt Campbell and Bill Snyder. LOL
Derek Dooley didn't have any problem as OC at Missouri with Drew Lock either the following year.
Ps they averaged 37ppg when Heupel was fired, 43 with Riley because they scored 20+ more points vs Kansas and Texas Tech the next year. Apparently beating Kansas 44-7 wasn't enough so they went over 60 against them the next year. But that's hardly "taking off". Riley also got Baker Mayfield. Heupel had an injured Trevor Knight who missed 3 games and his backup who was a baseball player who started 3 games that year.

UCF vs. Florida Atlantic - Game Recap - September 7, 2019 - ESPN
Freshman Gabriel leads No. 18 UCF past FAU 48-14
The Knights (2-0) totaled 574 yards and reached the 30-point mark for the 28th game in a row, the longest such streak since at least 1936. The only thing that stopped them was lightning in the area, which prompted the game to be called with 4:20 to play.
Florida Atlantic (0-2) disappointed a home crowd of 30,811, largest in the program's history.
"That's an embarrassing performance by us," Kiffin said. "It was a big game for a lot of people here, so I apologize to our fans, I apologize to the people who got us here, from the president down."

Have you noticed how you always make excuses for Heupel in your analysis? Ohh this guy was injured this year and this guy was injured that year. He was fired by his alma mater and the offense improved after he was gone.
He took over a stacked program and it has declined under his watch. I'm sure there are excuses as to why, but it happened.
Hoping this guy can rebuild our program in the SEC, when he has no track record of building anything, is just a leap too far for me. There is no evidence to show he can do it. Will he score a lot of points? Could. But will he rebuild our program and eventually win a lot of games...very good chance he doesn't. So why are we wasting our time with this guy?
