Here we are fellow UT fans... We have our coach after the dismal failure of Coach Pruitt.
I know everyone is experiencing different emotions right now. We are UT and in my opinion a program of rich history and tradition.
We have to give this coach our full support. He agreed to step in, with not knowing what all sanctions and penalities UT will be handed by his precessor.
While I was hoping for a big name hire myself, I just want what is best for the University of Tennessee. I hope and pray this is our guy. Only time will tell, but I will give him my full support like I always do for UT.
Wishing him all the best and hoping for a better future we all can be proud of.
It will be interesting to see what his salary is. I would bet any amount of money they're not paying him over $5 million per year, which would mean that's how they failed yet again - they went on the cheap, again.Yep, I do NOT understand it. Why do some Coaches feel entitled to become absolute slobs? I watched JH this season. Not Impressed! Frost had UCF 12-0 , and JH took the Knights down from there . This year, During a UCF Game, I commented that his body language wasn't good; having NO Idea he would be coming here. He simply doesn't have "Leader" written on his face. Ut's rivals are Giddy Today. Another "Splash Hire" hit the mud hole.
Haven’t seen the $ figures yet.I can't say the talent level at UT right now is whole lot better than what's at UCF.
Heupel may work out, I don't know but what has got me irritated is almost $20 million was spent on this hire.
The SEC is THE premiere league and only 14 men have the privilege to coach in the SEC. Any "up and coming" young coach would love to get a head coach job at ANY SEC school. That's why I say Fulmer could have made a Heupel like hire without spending $20 million. Even the big Heupel supporters here on Volnation should complain (at least a little) about the amount of money spent on this hire.
If I owned my own private business. would I risk $20 million of MY OWN money on a investment that has as much chance (or more) of failure as success? NO!!! But UT being a public institution where they spend other people's money on needless, too risky decisions.
Amen to that. BOYCOTT.
This guy has experience turning an undefeated program into a 6-4 team. LOL but DANNY WHITE bro!!comments like this are not helpful to our program and recruiting. This guy can put together strong offenses. And unlike Pruitt he has head coaching experience. Wish everyone would stop the dissing and negativity. Heck I really don’t know if I want a late 50’s age coach coming in here just because he was a P5 coach. I’ll take an up and coming 42 year old. The guy also won a national championship and was Heisman runner up.

If we had offered $10 million per year to Campbell and Fleck, one of them would have taken it. There is no excuse for getting out of the buyout for Pruitt and then cheaping out again, for the fifth time in a row.
BOYCOTT.
Coach Hype-El is just gonna have to earn some respect with good coaching. We now assume they suck until they prove otherwise. Waiting to see if they can coach hasn’t worked the last 20 years and to be honest I’m tired of the crap the university feeds us. If he wants a motivated fan base then do something to get fans excited......it takes more that showing up for the jobcomments like this are not helpful to our program and recruiting.
