Josh Selby in town this weekend.

Unless Selby has all but guaranteed CBP that he will not be a Vol. Then I suppose it would just be a BIG waste of time, wouldn't it?

Certainly don't see how it would be indicative of BIG problems.

If going to see a guy that we're rumored to be in the top 3 for is a waste of time then screw our final 4 hopes.

I changed it under my avatar! What more could you possibly want.

Anyway.... BP is giving a speech at lunch on Friday at the PIT I thought I saw something saying he was in town already?
Sorry, I thought that meant you lived in obnoxious land. :haha_oh:

Yeah, I've never heard of an 18 year old changing his mind before. You're right, why waste your time trying to convince a high school athlete to change his mind and attend the school you rely on for a paycheck. That's just silly.

Oh...my bad. Because of his age, there must be no such thing as a done deal. I assume you were one of the ones that thought Markeith would actually be a Vol?

Are you trying to make my point for me?

The point being, that once Kiffin left Markeith was NEVER coming to Knoxville. (Despite what half the people on this board fooled themselves into thinking.)

The point being that there are some sure things, despite what people trick themselves into thinking.

I just don't see us being screwed without a Pearl visit to Selby. That's it.

With the rag-tag group of guys he had this year, they were 2 points away from a final four appearance. And now with possibly the best recruiting class Tennessee has ever had incoming, we are screwed without Selby?

I just disagree I guess...

Come on. You have to have realized it's not about getting Selby. They're arguing that if Pearl won't do something so simple to attempt to get Selby, then we have a coach who's completely unmotivated.

Just saying it's crazy, given the scenario of the thread, that if Selby is in Knoxville to play kiddie basketball that Bruce isn't there as well to work on getting him to come to UT. Just seems to be common sense to me. Of course, most people wouldn't accuse me of having common sense.

I see said the blind man! I am suddenly remembering how unmotivated he looked in St. Louis, and how unmotivated he was to get Selby's commitment in the first place. (pre-World Wide Wes) What a lump.

All kidding aside, I don't completely disagree. If Pearl thought that there was still a chance, it would be CRAZY for him not to be there. However, he knows a lot more about the situation than we do, so I defer to his judgement.

I just happen to believe given Pearl's track record, that if he is not there...maybe there is a reason?

If he's committed then this whole argument is a moot point. Of course your caveat makes your arguments absurd.
