'19 JUCO CB Elijah Blades (A&M commit) Now in portal

Can we slow it down with all the talk of “silents” on here.

Some on this board would have you believe we have damn near a dozen silent commits at this point...

Serious question. Why are so many Tennessee commits staying silent about being committed?

Who knows but Wanya said he had been committed for about a month and i think Ramel said he was committed for about 3 weeks. Both silently. I think its something the coaching staff is doing to keep positivity in the news. Trying to move the fan base to back them more and more as the season grows. Could be wrong just my though process.

What does that mean? Was Oregon trying to get him enrolled now?

Last update on UF side was Ore believes they can get him enrolled for fall or winter quarter/term. UCLA has started to recruit him and advised him that he'll have a greater chance of being admitted if he was enrolled at a Cali juco.

Lots of moving parts involved.

Class is already full.. All the 'cruitin going on right now is just for show...

A lot of times recruits will have specific dates that have meaning to them personally that they want to honor with a commitment. They’ve already informed the staff of their decision but they wait to go public on the date of their choosing.

Not being a d$#&, but I just don't see Pruitt and company being that way. That was a ***** Jones tactic to keep his followers (me included) in tow to keep the heat off his collar. I can maybe see em holding emmoff til a big event like the BBQ weekend but not holding em in a limbo status and strategically having em pop the commit n make it public. Just my opinion but I think Pruitt is more strait forward and serious than to play games like that.

So you think Wayna and Ramel were lying?

I think you are reading too much into it. Its not coach games if a recruit calls or talks to the staff and says "Hey I'm a Vol but I'm gonna announce it on this date." It happens.

Don’t we have a meet the team day coming up ? I think CJP changed the way the spring game was set up and added this one coming up to gin up more support before the season starts . My guess is you’ll see some commit that weekend . We also have a huge weekend coming up soon with the Bbq . My guess on all of the silent commits holding off is just strategic to keep the momentum going ... it’s a long off season .
