Thompson could join Pruitt's staff but I think we're getting ahead of ourselves with this kid and that being the reason he's visiting UT. I think it's more that Thompson was his lead recruiter to SC, he was committed there since the summer and LT is no longer on staff there so his main relationship is gone. Makes sense he's looking around and why not look at UT, it's close to home and we have immediate PT for DT's.
The scuttlebutt at USCjr is that they were going to attempt to Blueshirt Green in a similar fashion as we are with Anthony Harris for grade concerns. That way if he doesn't qualify, they don't lose their initial counter. They believe Pruitt is bringing him in on an OV to force USCjr's hand to honor his Scholarship straight up. Essentially making them risk losing an initial counter if he doesn't qualify.
It may all be fabricated BS, but I like it...
Yeah, they've got to be able to sign a majority of top in-state talent at will. They really needed to sign Anderson and Hampton and Mays last year. Winning will fix that thoughGreens is a more pressing position of need and is ready to play day one. Pruitt hasn’t made many mistakes, but I will agree, Anderson is one.
