Julian Phillips in the transfer portal

Phillips had nothing to lose by entering the portal, not saying he doesn’t ultimately transfer but this gives him all possible options on the table considering the deadline was tomorrow.
Would have been foolish not to.....he evidently doesn't want to come back to UT and we don't have a spot anyway....

we would have to push another guy out to bring him back and I don’t think Barnes wants to do that. Think we told him his spot is gone

He wasn't going to reach it here. Barnes didn't know how to use him.
Don’t blame his inability to play up to. SEC standards as a Freshman on Barns. While a good athlete, he is the one who could not put the ball on the floor and get a shot off. His ability to dribble the basketball was way below standard. He was a good defender, rebounder, and free throw shooter, it ales more than that to become a star in college basketball and the NBA. Maybe hie will mature and become a great player somewhere.

You’re clueless af

Why do our fans automatically think that every time a player transfers its because they can't play? He was a 5 star for a reason. His style doesn't fit what Barnes wants in his offense, and his strengths don't align with Barnes needs at his position. I'm not sure why Barnes even recruited him. He has a long line of super athletic wings who don't pan out, but he keeps going after them.

Funny that Keon Johnson, Jaden Springer, and Kennedy Chandler did just fine in their lone seasons here.....but now that Phillips was a bust.....it's Barnes fault....lmao

Are you trying to prove my point? Kennedy was exactly the type of point guard this offense needs. Springer and Johnson both were inconsistent, but their strengths aligned with what Barnes wanted better than Phillips.. Barnes needs to stop targeting super athletic wings who want to face up and iso. He keeps recruiting them and they never pan out because thats not what he wants at that position.

Do you even watch games?

I don’t think you do.

It amazes me that you know what Rick Barnes wants better than Rick Barnes knows what Rick Barnes wants.

We are apparently in the presence of greatness.
