Making juneteenth a national holiday is just a part of the Marxist Revolution under way in the United States.
I see one positive outcome from this. There won’t be a shortage of chicken wings, ribs etc on July 4.I have zero problem with Juneteenth being a national holiday. It's basically another Independence Day, only for black Americans. I think it fitting for it to be a national holiday. I do believe that it being made a holiday now is about political pandering, which is a shame, but it is worthy of recognition.
The United States deciding to stop enslaving people is insignificant? What else do you view as insignificant? Moon landing?
We read it, understood it, and you are still ignorant and wrong.I said the HOLIDAY itself was insignificant - there is a difference. There are scores of other dates worthy of holidays if you wanted to get into it; we've got enough official ones. At this rate it won't be long before we add Cinco de Mayo if it would by dems more votes.

Have you looked at our official ones? How many would you say are more significant then the ending of our enslavement of people?I said the HOLIDAY itself was insignificant - there is a difference. I agree 1000% that Juneteenth is worthy of being a holiday, but I also think you're intelligent enough to realize that the reason it's being made a holiday NOW is political pandering. I think that's the part that has some upset. It should have been made a holiday long ago.Have you looked at our official ones? If you believe it should be a holiday, and now it's recognized, then people need to STFU. My wife's company made it holiday last year. If it deserves recognition then it deserves it. Regardless of your feelings.I agree 1000% that Juneteenth is worthy of being a holiday, but I also think you're intelligent enough to realize that the reason it's being made a holiday NOW is political pandering. So the right thing for the wrong reasons is AOK with you. Got it.If you believe it should be a holiday, and now it's recognized, then people need to STFU. My wife's company made it holiday last year. If it deserves recognition then it deserves it. Regardless of your feelings.
Wondering how celebrating the end of slavery is viewed as political? Seems like we as a people shouldn’t be upset about this but instead happy! Would love to understand how people don’t see this as a good thing.Making Juneteenth a holiday is the right thing. Doing it to score political points is the wrong reason.
Why do you think it was done now? Because people who have been in office for years just suddenly realized out of the goodness of their hearts it was the right thing to do? They're pandering to POC, trying to shore up their votes for midterms. It's pandering. Most of these people, from both parties, have been in office for a good deal of time, yet are just now thinking this is a good thing to do. It's the right thing to do. Absolutely. That doesn't mean it's being done for the right reasons. Don't be a sheep to either party. See their motivation for what it is.Wondering how celebrating the end of slavery is viewed as political? Honestly, I see it as progression of our nation to move forward in a positive direction. If we don’t progress forward then what are we doing?? I don’t see it politically. I see it as a move forward. Not a sheep, just a person who desires equality. It’s just a step forward. Why do you think it was done now?
