Juneteenth

I was in NYC during pride when SCOTUS overturned all bans on gay marriage, and let me tell you, there were people going overboard with the celebration. The aftermath included a lot of paddy waggons and zip ties. You might see the same thing after winning a stanley cup or a super bowl.

People are excited. Have some perspective.

Or just go with black holiday = bad/not the right time.

We have a day that preaches about something that happened 225 years ago. I dont see you calling for an end of that.

Heck we celebrate Thanksgiving and that was likely bs from the get go 300 years ago. I guess that's another one the modern man doesnt need.

Memorial day no longer covers anyone who died during or before the Civil war.

We are getting rid of holidays left and right.

You completely misunderstand. I said at the start that I totally support Juneteenth. I think the end of slavery in America should be celebrated. I don’t think it should be discussed every other day of the year like it has been recently. No one here today has been a slave or owned a slave. Those with ancestors who were slaves should honor them on Juneteenth and we all should respect that.

Couple Pulled From Car and Shot in Chicago! (VIDEO)

This happened in Humboldt Park Chicago last night. A Latino couple displaying a Puerto Rican flag on their car was pulled out of their car and shot.

Another mostly peaceful Juneteenth encounter.
This is the root of the majority of violence in this country....not whitey, not a lack of gun control laws.......gang and criminal activity....every .... single...time.....

114 shell casings and no casualties. I'm guessing those involved look something like this:

Lol. Spin it however you want.

So we're cool with summing up millions of people observing a holiday with one negative video?

Michigan woman who Ambushed Police officer at Juneteenth Parade Dies after Struck by Return Fire: Police

A woman in Michigan who authorities say shot at a Flint police officer at a traffic checkpoint during a parade on Juneteenth and was struck when the officer returned fire has since died at the hospital.

Michigan State Police is investigating following the officer-involved shooting that happened at approximately 2:14 p.m. Saturday in the city of Flint. Officials identified the woman as Briana Sykes, 19, of Flint.

A preliminary investigation revealed that an officer working a traffic point for the Juneteenth Celebration Parade "was fired upon by a lone occupant of a vehicle who drove up to him," the Flint Police Department said in a press release.

The Champion’s Parade, which honors the city’s athletic greats and community leaders, began at noon in front of City Hall and was to proceed north on Saginaw Street. Held in coordination with Juneteenth, the newly deemed federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S., the parade was to end at the Bernston Field House, a historic hub for Flint’s African American community, according to Michigan Live.
